The invention relates to a device for depositing longish stick-type articles of daily use such as especially, walking aids, crutches, umbrellas, walking sticks used for hiking and similar in an upright or essentially vertical position. Said device has a base plate ( ), at least one detachably connectable tubular element ( ) and a fixing mechanism ( ) for detachably fixing said tubular element ( ) to the base plate ( ). Device for arranging, clamping or contracting a ring shaped securing mechanism

In an open hose clamp with overlapping band ends, the outer band part comprises, starting from its end, an opening, an undulation, an Oetiker ear, an aperture, and a hook, while the inner band part comprises, starting from its end, a hook for engagement in the opening, a smooth area spanning the undulation and the ear, and a tongue with an attachment which passes through the aperture. The attachment serves to guide the tongue in the aperture and thus to ensure correct mutual positioning of the two band parts, transverse to the longitudinal direction of the band, in addition to securing the hose clamp in the engaged state, and cooperating with the hook provided on the outer band part for opening the tightened clamp.

A balancing arrangement for a rotating member, especially for a hollow shaft made from light-weight metal, in which a counterweight of predetermined size and weight is affixed onto the external surfaces of the rotating member in predetermined position by the use of a clamping band made from a material normally devoid of any significant elastic stretchability. Elastic stretchability is imparted to the clamping band by specially configured sections which may be formed by openings or non-rectilinear lateral band portions which become less non-rectilinear in the presence of tensional forces in the band and which elastically return to a more non-linear shape when the tensional forces disappear. The internal surfaces of the counterweight and/or of the clamping band are provided with anchoring means to assure position retention thereof on the external surfaces of the rotating member.

A clamp structure with a clamping band which can be used, for example, to fixedly secure a hose on a nipple and which includes a tightening arrangement for tightening the clamp structure about the object to be fastened and a tolerance-compensating arrangement for the entire tolerance range of the hose and nipple. The tolerance-compensating arrangement is thereby formed by a slot-like opening punched-out of the clamping band which is of such width and length that the lateral clamping band portions left on both sides of the slot-like opening provide tolerance compensation at the clamping forces specified by the customer, taking into consideration also the fact that the material of the lateral band portions is work-hardened by the punching-out operation of the tolerance-compensating opening.

A method and machine for manufacturing compression rings in which flat band material is fed to a stamping station from a feed station, a blank is stamped out with a mechanical connection having male and female configurations at opposite ends, the blank is then fed to a deformation machine where it is displaced into the several axial positions of the machine in which, in a first position, the blank is predeformed into configuration permitting closing of the mechanical connection in a second position in which the blank is also deformed into its circular configuration. Preferably the thus-deformed and closed compression ring is then subjected to a swaging action in a third position before it is ejected out of the machine.

A machine for fastening a compression ring on an object to be fastened by shrinking the ring in which segmental actuating slide members are movable within a housing along circular paths with a constant radius about a center, and in which segments on the inside of the slide members are operable to move a limited distance in the radial direction; the segmental slide members are provided with internal surface portions of non-constant radial distance from a center, and the segments are provided with surface portions for abutment with the non-concentric surface portions on the inside of the slide members; an actuating mechanism operatively connected with the slide members causes the latter to close and thereby forces the segments to reduce the inside diametric dimension thereof which in turn causes compression of a shrink-ring held thereat.
