The invention relates to an adsorber element for a heat exchanger and an adsorption heat pump or adsorption refrigerator that contains at least one such adsorber element. The adsorber element includes a heat-conducting solid body and a sorption material for a vaporous adsorbate arranged on the surface of this solid body. A fluid-tight foil composite is arranged on the outer surface of the open-pore solid body, at least in the areas in which a contact with a heat transfer fluid is provided, wherein this adsorber element is embodied such that the heat exchange between the open-pore solid body and the heat transfer fluid can take place via the fluid-tight foil composite.

Adsorption heat pump, adsorption refrigerator and adsorber elements therefor

A system and method for air-conditioning motor vehicles and, in particular, to an air-conditioning systems for motor vehicles having adsorption heat pumps. The apparatus includes a two adsorber chambers, each connected to a condenser and an evaporator via different connection elements; a vacuum shell for enclosing the adsorber chambers, the condenser, and the evaporator, wherein the vacuum shell is not self-supporting; and one or more adsorbers housed in the adsorber chambers, wherein the adsorbers are comprised of a carrier material coated by a sorbent. The method includes using an adsorption heat pump having one or more adsorber chambers, wherein adsorption and desorption are alternated between the adsorber chambers. Sorptive heat exchanger and related cooled sorption process

A solid sorption heat pump is provided that includes an adsorber/desorber unit including a heat exchanger and a solid sorption material. The adsorber/desorber unit is placed in a common housing, which is sealed against the outside atmosphere, together with a condenser/evaporator unit, and the adsorber/desorber unit and the condenser/evaporator unit are separated from one another by an adsorbant-permeable element. The adsorber/desorber unit includes a thermoconductive absorbent holding body, which is connected in a thermoconductive manner to the heat exchanger. The absorbant holding body holds the sorption material, and provides stability to the adsorber/desorber unit. The interior of the common housing is subjected to the action of a negative pressure. The common housing is provided as a thin-walled sheet metal sheathing that is placed on the absorbent holding body, whereby diverting the collapsing forces generated by the negative pressure to the holding body and/or to the heat exchanger and to the condenser/evaporator unit.
