The present invention concerns a cable for signal transmission and a method for producing such a cable. The cable comprises one or more wire pairs extending in a longitudinal direction, each of said wire pairs including two conductors each separately surrounded by a dielectric layer. At least one of said one or more wire pairs comprises a conductive shield being wrapped in a rotational direction along and about the longitudinal axis of the wire pair such that a longitudinal side of a wrap overlaps a preceding wrap. The conductive shield is applied with an angle (&#x3b8;) that differs between different wraps such that the conductive shield lay length (L) varies along the length of said cable.

A database processing request is performed by distributed processes. Each of the distributed processes involved in the task performs some data processing function and includes process identifying information along with a substantive task message to another process. Ultimately, messages along with the identifying information reach a controlling process which then deduces from that identifying information whether all of the messages from all processes involved in the task have completed their part of the task. If it deduces they have, the task is complete.

Method and apparatus for evaluating a data processing request performed by distributed processes

In a TDMA cellular telephone system, an error concealment method provides parameter interpolation based on soft quality measures that will enhance the speech quality under bad channel conditions compared to prior methods of repeating previous voice data frames. Specifically, the soft technique of the present invention uses a weighted combination of previous and present frame parameters, where the weighting reflects the probability of error. The present invention will improve the masking of errors compared to hard actions based on a binary detection, especially when the binary detection fails or when the received frame is declared as being 'good'. The method can also utilize parameter based soft information without increasing the bitrate.

Soft error concealment in a TDMA radio system

Identification of data packets in switching equipment included in a telecommunication system and known as a packet switch. A plurality of incoming links are connected to the switching equipment via first switch ports, and a plurality of outgoing links are connected to the switching equipment via second switch ports. The equipment also includes control and coupling devices required to connect an incoming link with an indicated link, where the indication of an outgoing link is initiated by signals in the form of one or more data cells occurring on an incoming link. Additional information in the form of additional bits is delivered to the data cell in the first switch port and the additional bits are given a configuration which corresponds to the address information in the data cell. The additional bits are removed in the second switch port. The additional bits include a category identification and/or a function identification.
