A spider, for a universal joint for prop shafts suitable for the transmission of torque, comprising pins arranged around a mid-point and extending from the base body in pairs about a common axis, whereby the axes cross at the center of the spider at a right angle. Each pin comprises a surface arranged concentrically about the corresponding pin axis forming a running surface, or has a running surface for the rollers of a roller bearing and a transition region between the surface forming, or supporting a running surface and the base body. The spider is characterized by the following features:&#x2014;functional surfaces for the support of at least one sealing device with formation of a seal surface of a sealing pair on the front face of the base body facing the pin, on each pin, said functional surface runs perpendicular to a plane which runs from the pin axis of the corresponding pin to an adjacent pin in the circumferential direction, the functional surface runs from the transition region to at least a region in the radial direction about the pin axis which may be described by a radius which corresponds to at least 1.5 times the radius of the pin and each functional surface is provided with at least one centering surface perpendicular thereto for the bearing mounting of a seal holder supporting the sealing device.

A shafting, particularly a cardan shaft for rail vehicles, has two cardan joints (), each of which comprises two link forks () coupled to one another by a central part (). Articulated yoke, method for the production of a supporting surface enabling an even distribution and bearing arrangement

The invention relates to a method for improving the mechanical properties, especially the hardness, of journal crosses for use in articulated shafts. According to the invention, a superficial area which is defined by the transition surfaces between two journals that are adjacent to each other in the peripheral direction and the superficial areas of the peripheral surfaces of the adjacent journals that point in the peripheral direction is induction-hardened in one method step and then quenched with cooling agents.

Method for improving the mechanical properties of journal crosses by induction heating

A thrust ring, in particular an axial bearing thrust ring, for forming a running surface for rolling elements, for use in bearing systems for universal joints of cardan shafts. The ring has a first planar end side and a second end side, having two surface regions on the second end side which have been machined symmetrically with respect to a first axis of symmetry S of the thrust ring, and also in terms of its profile in the circumferential direction as seen starting from the first axis of symmetry, in the circumferential direction, to a further, second axis of symmetry S which runs at right angles to the first axis of symmetry S . Each of the surface regions can be described by a change in cross section of the thrust ring, which change comprises a reduction in the thickness dimensions describing the cross-sectional area in the region of the inner circumference and the outer circumference of the thrust ring, wherein the reduction in the thickness dimensions in the region of the inner circumference being less than in the region of the outer circumference.

A flange yoke for a universal joint, two joint fork halves, each comprising a base component and a bearing component. The joint fork halves can be connected in a form-locking manner to one another in the region of their base component to form a flange. The base components have mutually complementary toothing in the region of the outer circumference on their coupling face, wherein the extension of a tooth trace of the toothing on the coupling face forms an angle of from >0 degrees to <180 degrees with a plane formed by the pin axis of a pin supported in a joint fork half and a joint fork axis coinciding with an axis of rotation of the joint fork. A second set of toothing is formed in the region of the joint fork axis on the mutually facing coupling faces of the base components. A lubricant feeding system for shaft and hub profile assemblies that can move longitudinally along an axis. A first exterior assembly member (e.g., shaft or hub) encloses at least partly a second interior member (e.g., hub or shaft) along the circumference. At least one distributing channel, extending circumferentially over at least part of the inner circumference, is provided in the region of the profile base. This distributing channel is coupled with at least one lubricant feeding channel extending towards the external circumference of the assembly exterior member The invention includes a distributing member extending circumferentially over the length of the distributing channel, splits the distributing channel into a first partial area located radially outward and a second partial area located radially inward. The distributing member and the distributing channel are designed to form, when they co-operate, a plurality of valve areas between the first and the second partial of the distributing channel.

A safety clutch transmits torque between two coaxial machine parts. The safety clutch includes a basic body for the at least indirect frictionally engaged connection of two machine parts, and at least one thin-walled sleeve which forms a wall of an annular chamber upon which pressure medium can act. At least one feed line extends through the basic clutch body to the annular chamber and can be closed in an air and fluid-tight manner by closure elements, in particular closure valves. A flange driver for a cardan joint with a spider comprised of two pins mutually offset by 90.degree. and two essentially same-design yoke halves. Each yoke half includes a base and a bearing part with a bore contained in it. Both yoke halves abutt along an interface which is essentially perpendicular to the axis of a first spider pin supported by the yoke. Both yoke halves feature a system for torque transmission from the shaft adjoining the joint to the flange driver and to the spider or in reverse order. Both yoke halves of the flange driver are joined to each other positively. Each yoke half features on its interface a toothing directed toward the respective complementary interface. The flank lines of the toothing or a plurality of tangents to the flank lines, projected in a common plane with the yoke axis, extend at an angle greater than 0.degree. to smaller than 180.degree. relative to the yoke axis.
