Technologies for managing Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) packet delivery include a network interface controller (NIC) of a computing device. The NIC is configured to retrieve identifying data from received IP packets and identify a TCP data stream associated with each received IP packet based on the retrieved identifying data. Additionally, the NIC is configured to determine a service data flow queue associated with the TCP data stream, determine whether a plurality of IP packets presently enqueued in the determined service data flow queue are out of order, and enqueue the received IP packet at a tail of the identified service data flow queue if the NIC determines that the plurality of IP packets presently enqueued in the determined service data flow queue are out of order. Other embodiments are described herein.

Technologies for managing TCP/IP packet delivery

Disclosed is a method for managing Internet Protocol Packet bundling comprising determining an operation of a real-time critical service ('RTCS') on a mobile device; determining a data management indicator for the RTCS; where a RTCS is operating, and based on the data management indicator, determining a maximum number of Internet Protocol Packets for bundled delivery from a first layer of a protocol stack to a second layer of the protocol stack; receiving a number of Internet Protocol Packets totaling the maximum number of Internet Protocol Packets for bundled delivery; where the maximum number of Internet Protocol Packets for bundled delivery is greater than one, bundling the number of Internet Protocol Packets, and delivering the number of Internet Protocol Packets the first layer of the protocol stack to the second layer of the protocol stack.

Management of received internet protocol packet bundling for real time services

The invention refers to a resource scheduling for a radio channel between a radio telecommunications network and a radio terminal or user equipment, UE, wherein the radio telecommunications network performs a resource scheduling in dependency of a reported channel quality of the radio channel, wherein the UE performs the steps of determining () a channel quality with respect to the radio channel, determining () a communication type with respect to the radio channel, generating () a channel quality value as a function of the channel quality and the communication type, and transmitting the channel quality value to the radio telecommunications network. The invention further refers to a radio terminal and a computer program for performing the method.

Channel quality reporting in dependency of communication conditions

A technique for controlling a duty cycle of a transmitter in a mobile device is provided. When the mobile device is wirelessly connected to a telecommunications network, discontinuous reception and transmission is provided by a duty cycle including an active state and an inactive state. As to a method aspect of the technique, a switching option for initiating the inactive state after the active state is determined. It is assessed whether a timer of the mobile device triggers a future transmission at a corresponding transmission time. If a time difference between the switching option and the transmission timer exceed a predefined minimum duration, the inactive state is initiated.

Radio resource control technique

A technique for allocating a uplink data volumeto uplink data pending for transmission in a telecommunications device is provided. As to a method aspect of the technique, a grant of the uplink data volume is received. A portionof the granted uplink data volume is reserved for transmission of a buffer status report, which is to be provided by a Data Link layerof the telecommunications device. A size of the buffer status report depends on a number of channels for which uplink data is pending. If an unreserved portionof the granted uplink data volume is not sufficiently sized for the pending uplink data, the unreserved portion and at least a part of the reserved portion are allocated to at least a portion of the pending uplink data when the allocation corresponds to a reduction of a number of channels for which uplink data is pending so that the buffer status report is at least reduced in size.
