Apparatus and method for environmentally monitoring electronics devices. Each electronics device has an environmental sensor configured to monitor an environmental state. Environmental control logic, including computer instructions stored in the memory, is configured to simultaneously query, with respect to a global clock, at least a subset of the electronics devices to read the respective sensors and thereby obtain a set of environmental data points, and to map the set of environmental data points in relation to the sensor locations forming a transmissibility mode profile (TMP).

An apparatus includes a circuit, a code modulator, and an actuator. The circuit is operable to detect displacements of a rotating object while in motion. The circuit is operable to detect a position of the displacements and to generate a signal associated therewith. The code modulator is operable to generate a modulated signal based on the position and the displacements. The actuator is operable to apply a force to the rotating object, wherein the force is based on the modulated signal.

Provided herein is an apparatus, including a stationary component, a rotatable component configured to rotate relative to the stationary component, and a conical pumping seal formed between the stationary component and the rotatable component.

Provided herein, is an apparatus that includes a fluid dynamic bearing defined in a gap between a stationary component and a rotatable component. The fluid dynamic bearing includes a first portion of the gap at an axial end of the fluid dynamic bearing, and a second portion of the gap. The first portion of the gap is narrower than the second portion of the gap. A groove in the fluid dynamic bearing on the stationary component or the rotatable component includes a portion of a predetermined width or a predetermined depth. The portion of the predetermined width or predetermined depth is selected based on the first gap or the second gap.

A device including a displacement measurement circuitry and a charge adjuster circuitry is disclosed. The displacement measurement circuitry may be configured to measure displacement associated with a rotating object. The charge adjuster circuitry is coupled to the displacement measurement circuitry. The charge adjuster circuitry is configured to measure an offset associated with ambient noise in the device over time. The charge adjuster circuitry is further configured to adjust sensors of the displacement measurement circuitry to reduce the measured offset.

A device including a first axial portion, a second axial portion, and a radial portion is disclosed. A portion of the second axial portion is configured to connect to a hub. An upper surface of the second axial portion may be positioned above an upper surface of a sleeve limiter shoulder when the portion of the second axial portion is connected to the hub. The radial portion connects the first axial portion to the second axial portion. The radial portion is configured to increase stiffness by increasing surface contact between the radial portion and the sleeve limiter shoulder.

An apparatus including a first plurality of electrodes and a second plurality of electrodes is disclosed. Each electrode of the first plurality of electrodes is configured to measure an electric field associated with a position of a moving object. The second plurality of electrodes is disposed further away from the moving object in comparison to the first plurality of electrodes. The second plurality of electrodes is configured to measure a signal associated with ambient noise.

In some instances, the inner component and the outer component are configured for relative rotation. In some instances, the apparatus further includes a fluid reservoir configured to supply a fluid to the fluid dynamic bearing and the fluid reservoir is defined by shearless surfaces.

Provided herein, is an apparatus that includes a fluid dynamic bearing, a hub, and an induction housing. The fluid dynamic bearing is defined by a stationary component and a rotatable component. The hub is configured to rotate relative to the stationary component. A current is induced within the induction housing resulting from the relative rotation. The induced current creates a repulsive force between the stationary component and the hub.

A charge coupled displacement sensor includes a first number of electrodes disposed to form a first ring including a first diameter and further operable to form an electric field around an object. A second number of electrodes are alternately disposed with the first number of electrodes within the first ring and are further operable to measure variations in the electric field attributed to a position of the object. A third number of electrodes are disposed to form a second ring including a second diameter greater than the first diameter and further electrically coupled with an electrical ground.
