A ceramic body for use as a gas conduction channel or duct and preferably used to define an exhaust channel in a cylinder head of an internal combustion engine, where the cylinder head is cast around the ceramic body. The ceramic body is provided with a thickening or external layer over at least a part of its outer surface. This external layer adds stability and strength to the ceramic body and allows it to withstand the pressures occurring during the casting of the cylinder head. The thickening or external layer is formed from a pressure resistant material and may be applied to a depression in the ceramic body or into the space between two parallel ceramic bodies to provide the required strength and stability.

Hollow ceramic body

An exhaust gas turbocharger is provided for an internal-combustion engine which is mounted on a bracket connecting the internal-combustion engine to a motor vehicle body. The bracket includes a device therein for defoaming and degasifying the lubricating oil medium leaving the exhaust gas turbocharger.

Exhaust gas turbocharger

A liquid cooling system for a super-charged internal combustion engine in which the turbocharger is connected to the forced circulatory cooling system effective during the operation of the engine. In order to prevent an overheating of the turbocharger after the internal combustion engine is turned off, the turbocharger is equipped with a further cooling circulatory system maintained by thermo-syphoning action. A volume expansion tank present in the cooling circulatory system of the internal combustion engine is thereby used as heat exchanger for cooling off the cooling liquid, which is constructively matched for this particular application.
