A torque limiting coupling (1) has a coupling sleeve (5), a coupling hub (2), and driving elements (12) settable between a torque transmitting position and a disconnected position. A switching ring (27) and loading balls (24) are provided which, in the torque transmitting position, load the driving elements (12) radially inwardly. If the driving elements (12) give way in their disconnected position, the balls (24) are pushed radially inwardly until the switching ring (27) is able to slide over the balls (24) and prevent them, via a bore portion, from displacing radially outwardly. This ensures that, if the coupling hub and coupling sleeve continue to rotate relative to one another, the driving elements (12) cannot re-engage the recesses and thus assume the torque transmitting position. If the switching ring (27) is displaced manually, it must be moved into a position wherein the balls (24) are again able to escape radially outwardly, thus enabling the driving elements (12) to engage the torque transmitting position. Thus, re-engagement is only possible if the switching ring (27) is moved from its disconnected position of the driving elements (12) into the torque transmitting position of the driving elements (12).

Torque limiting coupling

A length adjusting mechanism for a driveshaft has two tubular profiles, an outer profile (6) and an inner profile (7). The outer profile (6) includes two circumferentially offset drawn in wedges (8) which project inwardly beyond the inner face of the otherwise circular cross-section of the outer profile (6). The wedges (8) engage grooves (11) of an inner profile (7). The grooves (11) are also drawn in. In this way it is possible to produce a pair of profiles which are suitable to transmit high torques and which, furthermore, do not include any parts which project in a radially outward direction.

A side strut 6 for the lower steering arm of a three-point attaching device of a tractor is telescopic and has a first telescopic member 14 and a second telescopic member 15 which are able to carry out relative movements relative to one another along an adjustment axis 16. A locking pawl 19 may allow maximum possible relative movement or a limited amount of travel. Complete locking is also possible. For setting the various positions which the locking pawl 19 is able to assume relative to the telescopic members 14, 15, a fixing device 31 is provided which takes account of the respective stop regions 24, 30 for the locking pawl 19 or which, for the purpose of allowing the entire relative movement between the maximum limits, may be disengaged from the locking stops 23. This measure, in addition to permitting standard adjustment within the limits of the usual floating movement, allows a limited floating movement. Furthermore, it achieves complete locking and fixing in this position.

Side strut for a lower steering arm of a tractor

A sealing assembly for the arms (6) of a cross member (5) of a universal joint has a seal (16) with a fixing portion (17) including a bore (18) which rests on the arm (6). In the region of its bore (18), the fixing portion (17) includes axially extending grooves (19) which open towards the bearing interior and the second end face (22) of the fixing portion (17), respectively. Towards the outside, the grooves are closed by a sealing lip (25). The sealing lips (30, 31), which have a sealing effect relative to the sealing face (32) of the bearing bush (7), are arranged at annular portions (28, 29). The sealing lip (30) closes under the pressure of lubrication. During the lubricating process, the lubricant is able to escape outwardly through the grooves (19) and the gap between the lifted sealing lip (25) and the annular shoulder (24). By separating the sealing function between the cross member and bearing bush when the two parts move relative to one another and the lubricating function via the channels, an improved sealing effect is achieved. When the internal pressure rises, the contact pressure of the sealing lip is adjusted by making use of the self-closing effect. The opening function of the sealing lip closing the lubricating grooves may accordingly be adjusted to the lubrication pressure which is usually higher.

Sealing assembly for a universal joint

A drive unit 1 for driving agricultural implements or effecting the drive in agricultural implements, has an input shaft 4 and at least one output shaft 10, 10a and a torque measuring device associated with at least one of the shafts 4 or 10, 10a. The shafts 4, 10, 10a are rotatably held in two spaced bearings 5, 6, 13, 14. To determine shaft twisting as representative of the shaft torque, strain gauges 32, 32a are provided and associated with the first shaft 4. The gauges 32, 32a are attached to the outer face 19 of the first shaft 4 between its bearings 5, 6. An electronic measuring unit 31 is arranged and protected in a transverse bore 26 of the shaft 4. Slip rings, which serve to transmit values and energy, are arranged in a separate, sealed receiving space 33 outside the drive housing filled with lubricant, towards the connecting journal 7 of the first shaft 4. By arranging the electronic measuring unit 31 in a transverse bore 26 it is ensured that even at higher speeds, no rotational out-balance occurs. Furthermore, the measuring unit 31 is protected.

A lubricating device for a propeller shaft with two tubular plunging profiles (2, 4) inserted into one another. The lubricating device has two formed parts (16, 21) and a connecting hose between the two. The first formed part (16) is arranged towards the inner end (12) of the inner plunging profile (4). The first formed part has a through-bore (17) which ends in apertures (14, 15) opening towards the region of transition between the plunging profiles (2, 4). The first formed part further includes a connecting sleeve (18) with a lubricating channel (19). The second formed part (21) is arranged in the region of the other end of the inner plunging profile (4). It is secured inside the inner plunging profile (4). The second part has a continuous lubricating channel (23) extending through a connecting sleeve (22). A lubricating nipple (24) is threaded into the other end of the lubricating channel (23). The two formed parts are connected by the hose (27) slid over the connecting sleeves (18, 22). The parts of the two plunging profiles (2, 4) slide on one another and are lubricated by pressing lubricant through the lubricating nipple (24).

A tension bar especially a lifting bar, connects the lower steering arm of a three-point attaching device to the associated force arm of a tractor. The lifting arm is connected to the force arm and lower steering arm through attaching ends. A tension axis extends through the attaching ends of the lifting bar. The lift bar 5, in the direction transverse to the tension axis 12, is divided into an upper bar part 9 and a lower bar part 10. The upper bar part 9 and the lower bar part 10 are connected to one another by a bending beam 11, which is arranged outside the tension axis 12. The upper bar part 9 and the lower bar part 10 are separated from one another by a gap 13 which extends transversely to the tension axis 12 and to the bending beam 11. At the end of the transverse tension axis 12 facing away from the bending beam 11 a connecting element 15 is provided which is anchored both to the upper bar part 9 and to the lower bar part 10. The connecting element 15 limits the change in the width of the gap. A measuring device 19 is coupled with the lower bar part to measure the width of the gap.

Tension bar

A coupling (1) which is disconnectable in the driving direction of rotation has a coupling hub (2) and a coupling sleeve (3) rotatably arranged thereon. The hub (2) and sleeve (3) are connected in the driving direction of rotation by at least one locking ratchet (9, 10) and locking ratchet recess (7, 8 and 13, 14) respectively of the coupling hub (2) and the coupling sleeve (3), a locking pin (19, 20) with its longitudinal side (23, 24) extending in a tangential transverse bore (21, 22) presses the locking ratchets (9, 10) out of the locking ratchet recess (13, 14) in the coupling sleeve (3) when a switching ratchet (36) causes the rotation of the switching ring (4) by means of locking pins (19, 20).

Disconnectable coupling

A device for protecting a wide angle joint (8) associated with a driveshaft (7) for driving agricultural implements. It consists of a guard (1, 6, 11) which at least partially covers the double joint (8) and which is arranged so as to be axially movable relative to a sliding ring (2). The sliding ring (2) holds the guard (1) at a certain distance from the joint (8). The conical guard at its radially inward end comprises a flexible convoluted tube (6) covering the joint (8). The sliding ring (2) can contact a contact edge (10) of the tube (6) to compress it asymmetrically.

Fixed guard for rotating joints

A lifting strut having an adjusting sleeve with an externally threaded portion and an internally threaded portion. A connecting end with a threaded journal is screwed into the internally threaded portion, with a connecting end with a threaded sleeve being screwed on to the externally threaded portion. In addition, there is provided a movable holding sleeve having grooves and stops. The holding sleeve may be moved into any position relative to a rotary cross member of the adjusting sleeve provided with teeth for the purpose of changing the length of the lifting strut. Furthermore, the holding sleeve, with its grooves, may be moved across the teeth of the rotary cross member and across the teeth provided at the threaded sleeve in a corresponding position in order to arrest the change in length.

Lifting strut for a tractor

The invention relates to an angular bevel gear drive (6), for driving, or for the drive of, agricultural implements. It comprises a basic housing (9) and bevel gears (13, 14) arranged therein. The shafts (10, 11) of one or several of the bevel gears (14) are associated with individual bearing units (15) into which a torque measuring device (12) is integrated, i.e. the torque may be measured both at the input and the output end. The torque measuring device (12) operates in a contact-free way and is arranged between the bearings (18, 19) of the bearing unit (15). By combining the drive with a torque measuring instrument (12) it is possible to make optimum use of the power of the tractor and the implement or individual functional areas of the implement.
