Metallic substrates or substrates metallized at at least one surface are electrostatically powder coated with fluorinated polymers processable from the melt in admixture with 0.1 to 4% by weight of potassium titanate fibers.

Powder coating process employing fluorinated thermoplastics in admixture

In a process for powder coating high temperature resistant surfaces with multilayer coatings, particularly of fluoroplastics, thick coatings can be obtained by maintaining the flowability of the layer previously applied below its run-off limit while applying a subsequent layer.

Process for plastic coating, and coating produced by the process

Aqueous, pasty coating compositions containing a fluorine-containing copolymer formed from tetrafluoroethylene, vinylidene fluoride and hexafluoropropene and a polyacrylate thickener which is composed of an essentially noncrosslinked copolymer of acrylic acid or methacrylic acid and which has a viscosity of 4 to 40 mPa s in a 1% strength by weight solution in aqueous ammonia at a pH of 9 at a shear rate of 1,000 s.sup.-1 are described. The coating compositions are particularly suitable for application to textile substrates by means of the brushing process.
