A device for adjusting an object, for example a roll in a roll stand including a rotatably mounted pressure spindle and a torque motor having a stator and a rotor for rotationally driving the pressure spindle. In addition, the device includes a fixedly arranged pressure nut, which is engaged with the pressure spindle in a rotationally coupled manner via a thread to generate an axial movement of the pressure spindle in case of its rotation. Due to the axial movement generated in this way, the device can generate an axial adjustment force and transmit it to the object to be adjusted.

A device for handling and/or transporting work rolls and/or support rolls of a roll stand, by which the work rolls and/or support rolls can be brought from the roll stand into a roll workshop by a locomotive movable on a track. In order to be able to handle and transport different rolls using just one locomotive, without complicated coupling mechanisms, at least two tracks disposed at different heights are provided, on which a roll can be moved by the locomotive, and a lifting table is available, which is intended and suitable for raising or lowering the locomotive to one of the at least two different heights in order to bring it onto the respective track.

A grinding machine for the rolls of a roll stand includes a guide unit extending parallel to the roll to be ground. Mounted on the guide unit is a grinding unit which is displaceable in longitudinal direction of the roll by a displacement drive. The grinding unit is adjustable relative to the roll by adjusting drives. The guide unit is provided with a rotary drive which is capable of rotating the guide unit about its longitudinal axis. The grinding unit is formed by a grinding element which is symmetrical with respect to rotation. The grinding element is connected to the guide unit in such a way that the grinding element and the guide unit rotate together.

A device for adjusting a brush roll relative to a work roll in roll stand, particularly a roll stand for hot-rolling of aluminum includes pivotable supports mounted on both sides of the brush roll. The brush roll is rotatable in a direction opposite the direction of rotation of the work roll. The brush roll is displaceable in translatory movements parallel to the work roll. The pivot bearing of each brush roll support is arranged on a work roll chock, wherein the support includes a pivoting lever which is located between a controllable actuating element and a restoring support element. The actuating element is mounted in the balancing block or bending block of the roll stand and the support element is mounted in the chock.
