A radial piston pump having a drive shaft with camlike protuberances. The pump has a plurality of pistons movable in the radial direction, and one plate is retained on the end of each piston to engage the drive shaft. One or more recesses are disposed in the plate facing the piston, the recesses are engaged by snap hooks on a plate retainer on the piston. In a first variant a blind bore with a circumferential groove recessed out of the middle of the plate facing the piston is engaged by a snap ring retained in a notch on the piston. In a second variant a blind bore is recessed out of the plate facing the piston, and two parallel bores extend transversely to the blind bore, the center lines being tangent to the blind bore, and the bores receive two pins, which engage a notch on the piston.

The invention relates to a radial piston pump with a drive shaft supported in a pump housing and preferably with a number of pistons, each in its own cylinder chamber, arranged radially with regard to the drive shaft, and with a plate attached to the ends of these cylinders oriented toward the drive shaft, which plate has a blind hole in its center for receiving the end of the associated piston, wherein on its circumference, the piston has a groove into which a snap ring is inserted in order to fasten a plate retainer to the piston, which holds the plate on the piston, which is characterized in that at the rim of the blind hole in the plate, a cylindrical recess is produced, wherein the diameter of the cylindrical recess is dimensioned so that the play between the snap ring and the circumference of the cylindrical recess is smaller than the depth of the groove.

Radial piston pump for producing high fuel pressure internal combustion engines

A radial piston pump for generating high fuel pressure in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, having a drive shaft which is supported in a pump housing. The drive shaft is embodied eccentrically or has camlike protrusions in the circumferential direction. A plurality of pistons are disposed radially with respect to the drive shaft in a respective cylinder chamber. A plate is mounted on the ends of each piston toward the drive shaft, and the pistons are movable back and forth radially in the respective cylinder chamber by rotation of the drive shaft. Wear problems are solved by providing that the plate is pivotably connected to the associated piston. By the deflection of the plate on the piston, the load on the piston from moments of the bracing force is lessened.

Radial piston pump for producing high pressure fuel

The invention relates to a radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, in particular in a common rail injection system, having a housing, a drive shaft that is supported in the pump housing and has an eccentrically embodied shaft segment. A ring is slidingly supported on the shaft segment and cooperates with a plurality of pistons. The pistons are disposed radially with respect to the drive shaft in a respective cylinder chamber. Ends of the pistons oriented toward the drive shaft each have a respective plate. To improve engine efficiency, the cylinder chambers are filled with less fuel as the demand drops, this prevents increased wear and damage from occurring during operation. The problem of wear and damage is solved in that all the plates are kept in contact with the ring by a leaf-spring-like device, in particular a single clamp. In a radial piston pump in which a plate is held by a plate holder, the plate holder is secured to the ring.

Radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery

A radial piston pump for high-pressure fuel delivery in fuel injection systems of internal combustion engines, particularly in a common rail injection system. A drive shaft is supported in a pump housing and is embodied as eccentric or has cam-like projections in the circumference direction. A number of pistons are each disposed in a respective element bore and are situated radially in relation to the drive shaft. The pistons can be set into a reciprocating motion in the radial direction inside the respective element bore through the rotation of the drive shaft in order to aspirate fuel by way of an intake conduit in which an intake valve is disposed. The fuel is aspirated into a cylinder chamber that is defined by the piston in the element bore and is connected to a high-pressure conduit in which a high-pressure valve is disposed. The element bore is disposed together with the intake conduit and the high-pressure conduit in an element head. The embodiment of the element bore as a blind hole from which the intake conduit and the high-pressure conduit lead achieves a reduction of the high-pressure sealing points.
