The computed tomography device has a gantry with an opening and a radiation protection apparatus for covering the opening. The radiation protection apparatus includes a radiation protection cover and a pivoting apparatus, wherein an object under examination may be inserted into the opening along a system axis of the gantry when the radiation protection cover is in a first position relative to the gantry. The radiation protection cover is pivotably mounted relative to the gantry about a pivot axis by the pivoting apparatus such that a first pivoting motion of the radiation protection cover about the pivot axis enables the radiation protection cover to be lowered relative to the gantry from the first position to a second position. The computed tomography device may furthermore include at least one of a lighting system or a camera system.

An embodiment relates to an omnidirectional chassis for a gantry of a computed tomography device. The omnidirectional chassis includes a first pair of omnidirectional wheels; and a first wheel suspension for the first pair of omnidirectional wheels. The first wheel suspension includes a connecting unit to connect the first wheel suspension to a rack; a swivel unit connected to the connecting unit via a first swivel bearing and swivel-mounted about a first swivel axis relative to the connecting unit; and a tandem unit, connected to the swivel unit via a second swivel bearing and swivel-mounted about a second swivel axis. In an embodiment, the first pair of omnidirectional wheels is coupled to the tandem unit such that, on a swivel movement of the tandem unit about the second swivel axis, one omnidirectional wheel of the first pair of omnidirectional wheels is relatively raised and another omnidirectional wheel is relatively lowered.

In an embodiment, the system includes a gantry of a computed tomography device, the gantry including a chassis and a heat store; and a docking station. The gantry is movable via the chassis relative to the docking station. The gantry and the docking station are detachably connectable to one another such that a detachable coolant-exchange connection for exchanging a coolant and/or a detachable heat-conduction connection for heat conduction is formed between the heat store and the docking station.

A method is for correcting an imbalance in a computed tomography system, in which a supporting structure includes a radiation source is fitted on a fixed mounting frame. The supporting structure rotates together with the radiation source about a measurement space, in which is fixed in place a measurement object having a known attenuation response for the radiation emitted by the radiation source. The method includes detecting first measurement data of the radiation while the supporting structure rotates about the measurement object, determining an imbalance arising during the rotation of the supporting structure on the basis of the acquired first measurement data of the radiation, and determining a position and a weight of at least one counterweight on the supporting structure in order to reduce the determined imbalance, or determining correction data, which is used to correct the imbalance in software.
