A crimp contact is provided for connecting an electrical line to a rectangularly profiled contact member of a plug-in system. The crimp contact includes a contact piece connected to a transitional region. The transitional region is connected to a wire crimp and disposed between the contact piece and the wire crimp. The wire crimp is connected to an insulating crimp and is disposed between the transitional region and the insulating crimp. The insulating crimp includes a planar base side disposed between two opposing legs. The planar base side and opposing legs have a substantially rectangular profile after the crimp contact is connected to the electrical line.

Crimp contact for plug-in systems

The contact spring has a conventional base spring. A novel detent sleeve is mounted on the base spring. The detent sleeve projects beyond the base spring in the insertion direction and it is formed with a recess or a void in the projecting portion. A detent element inside the housing snaps into the void and locks the detent sleeve and the base spring in the housing.

Contact spring

A modular electrical connector coupling has a plurality of connector parts which can be plugged into one another. One of the connector parts has an enveloping housing with double-walled side walls and latching hooks for retaining the other connector parts. A locking slide is inserted into the gap formed by the double-walled side walls and prevents the latching hooks from springing back.

The one-piece contact spring has two spring arms, bent back inwardly in a box-shaped contact part. The spring arms are supported on a support which helps relieve the bend. The support is recessed into the box interior from the forward end of the bend by approximately two to five times the thickness of the bottom or top wall, respectively. A preferred embodiment of the one-piece contact spring has spring arms supported by support arms stamped and bent out from the bottom wall and the top wall.

One-piece contact spring

A lockable plug connector includes a prong strip housing which contains prong contacts and onto which a multichambered bush housing with bush contacts, connected to electric lines, can be plugged and locked by a snap connection, so that the prong contacts are put into electrical contact with the bush contacts. For the sake of attaining a very compact structure, a cover cap is thrust onto the plug contact side of the bush housing, and with this cap a secondary securing of the bush contacts is achieved. An annular wall of the prong strip housing fits over the cover cap completely and terminates at an end surface in an encompassing recess of the bush housing. For sealing purposes, a sealing plate can be disposed inside the bush housing, a sealing ring can be disposed between the prong strip housing and the bush housing, and a sealing ring encompassing the outer wall of the prong strip housing can be provided.

Plug connector

A plug connector has a housing of insulating material with at least one row of contact chambers into which contact elements can be inserted. The inserted contact elements can be secured with a securing slide which can be inserted orthogonally to a plugging direction of the plug connector into a gap of the housing. The securing slide has a primary detent edge orthogonally to the plugging direction of the plug connector, extending along two long sides of the securing slide and a segmented detent edge extending below the primary edge for secondary securing.

A contact spring includes a base spring including a spring arm base having two ends, two parallel side walls with ends, a connection part extending integrally away from the side walls at one end of the spring arm base, and spring arms extending integrally away from the side walls at the other end of the spring arm base. An overspring is retained on the spring arm base and has a bottom wall spanning the side walls of the spring arm base, and side walls peripherally adjoining the bottom wall, being parallel to the side walls of the spring arm base and extending around the ends of the side walls of the spring arm base. The base spring, in the vicinity of the spring arm base, and the overspring each having a top with at least one shaped tab joined to one of the side walls. One of the shaped tabs is retained by snapping under or underlapping another of the shaped tabs, forming a clamping device for securing the overspring and the base spring against mutual slippage.

A coding mechanism for assemblies pluggable onto a backplane wiring is provided. The backplane wiring is composed of a wiring backplane having contact blades introduced thereinto, and of blade connectors pluggable thereonto and designed as a rectangular housing open at one side for the acceptance of spring clips which are rigidly connected to electrical assemblies. Both the blade connectors as well as the spring clips are composed of individual sub-strips whose lengths correspond to single or multiples of the length of a given sub-segment. Sub-strips of both the blade connector as well as of the spring clip having the length of a sub-segment are partially designed as corresponding coding units in combination with special contacts, and can be attached at arbitrary locations of the strips.
