A method adapts optical properties of an immersion mixture by providing an immersion mixture made of multiple components, wherein at least two of the components have different optical properties and the immersion mixture has optical properties resulting from the proportions of the components, determining current actual values of the optical properties of the immersion mixture, and comparing the current actual values with target values. If actual values differ from target values by an unacceptable amount, a target mixture ratio of the components is determined to achieve the target values and the proportion of the components is set according to the target mixture ratio. For the components, water can be selected with a water-soluble inorganic compound or a water-soluble organic compound, or a non-water-soluble compound can be selected with a solvent suitable for dissolving the compound. Suitable chemical compounds and an immersion mixture made of multiple components can also be utilized.

Method for adapting optical properties of an immersion mixture, and immersion mixtures and components thereof

An immersion oil for microscopy contains a) a first diester A1 based on a tricyclodecane radical K having one functional group and a first hydrocarbon derivative C1 having two functional groups, and b) a second diester A2 based on the tricyclodecane radical K having one functional group and a second hydrocarbon derivative C2 having two functional groups, where C1 and C2 are different. Methods can be used for the production of the immersion oil and for the use thereof in microscopy.

A lacquer composition is provided, comprising 20%-79.9% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a thiol compound having two or more thiol groups, 20%-79.9% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a compound having two or more carbon-carbon double bonds and 0.1%-10% by weight, based on the total weight of the composition, of a separating agent having an alkyl radical having 4-20 carbon atoms, where the alkyl radical is unsubstituted or fluorine-substituted and the alkyl radical is bonded to a functional group. The invention is directed to an immersion oil for microscopy. The immersion oil includes an ester or ether with tricyclodecane structure as a main constituent and one or more high-boiling liquids as minor constituents. The immersion oil is free of halogens and exhibits a high UV-transmissibility and is characterized by low intrinsic fluorescence because the components utilized can be vacuum distilled.
