The invention relates to a plant for the treatment, in particular the cataphoretic dip coating of objects, in particular of vehicle chassis (), whereby the objects () are run by means of a transport car () through several treatment stations and on so doing are dipped in at last one treatment container () and retrieved therefrom again. The transport car () comprises a chassis (to), which travels along the trajectory of the objects (), at least one pivot arm (), connected to the chassis (to), a mounting () joined to the pivot arm (), for at least one object () and independently operated drives () for the translational displacement and the pivoting displacement of the at least one pivot arm () and the mounting (). The transport car () can be used not only for transport of the objects () for treatment but can also have a service basket () fixed thereto, suitable for the accommodation of at least one operative. The service basket () can be brought into any position which can be reached by the pivot arm (), by means of the transport car, whereby the alignment of the service basket () in maintained permanently in the vertical by means of a special device (). The operative in the service basket () can carry out maintenance and cleaning work on all reachable objects and surfaces in a convenient manner.

An installation for treating, in particular coating, articles, especially vehicle bodies, comprises at least one bath, in which a treatment liquid, in particular a paint, is located. The articles are intended to be immersed therein. A conveyor with which the articles are conveyed through the installation in a continuous or intermittent translational movement comprises a plurality of transport carriages, which run in guided manner on running surfaces. Each transport carriage comprises a separate drive for translational movement and a drive operating independently thereof for the immersion movement. The installation thus constructed is extraordinarily flexible, since the immersion movement does not have to correlate with the translational movement. The transport carriages, optionally carrying different articles, may miss from different directions at different speeds, travel at different speeds and thereby enlarge or reduce distances from preceding transport carriages and, if required, be individually removed from the transport line.

Installation for treating, in particular for coating, articles, especially vehicle bodies

Objects, ( ) especially vehicle bodies ( ), are guided through a painting installation comprising at least one bath ( ) in a continuous translation movement, by means of a transport device ( ). Immersion devices carry the objects using a carrier structure ( ) which is connected to the transport device ( ) in such a way that it can be pivoted by a pivoting arm ( ). A first drive device ( ) causes a pivoting movement of the pivoting arm ( ) about a first axis. A second drive device ( ) is used to pivot the carrier structure ( ) about the second axis, in relation to the pivoting arm ( ). One such immersion device enables very different kinematics of the immersing and emerging movement to be carried out.

Installation for treating, especially painting, objects, especially vehicle bodies

An installation for painting objects, in particular vehicle bodies, has at least one bath containing a treatment fluid in which the objects are to be immersed. The objects are guided through the installation in a continuous or intermittent translatory movement with the aid of a conveyor device. A plurality of immersion devices is provided, which support the objects with the aid of a supporting structure. The latter is connected to the conveyor device by way of a connecting structure. Each connecting structure has at least one steering linkage which in turn comprises two steering components arranged at a distance from one another. The steering components are each rotatably connected to the conveyor device at one end and rotatably connected to the supporting structure at the other end. At least one device ensures that at least one of the two steering components of the steering linkage can be rotated about the axis produced by its articulated connection to the conveyor device. It is possible for very different kinematics of the immersion and removal movement to be realized with the aid of the immersion device described, including those movements in which the object is lowered in parallel alignment with its original orientation and those in which the object is rotated about a horizontal axis

Treatment plant, in particular for painting objects, in particular vehicle bodies

A transport system for the shell assembly of vehicle bodies comprises a rail system ( ) which connects at least two processing stations and on which at least one carriage ( ), which carries the workpiece, is capable of travelling. The guidance of the carriage ( ) on the rail system ( ) and/or the design of the said carriage permits a certain displacement of the carriage ( ) transversely to the direction of movement and in the vertical direction. Disposed in the processing stations are spatially fixed positioning means ( ) which cooperate with corresponding positioning means ( ) on the carriage and shift the carriage ( ), without having recourse to any other driving source than the movement of the carriage ( ) itself in the processing station, into the exact position which is necessary for processing the workpiece in the said processing station.

Transport system used in body shell assembly of vehicle bodies

A continuous processing plant for the treatment of workpieces includes at least one treatment station, for example, an immersion basin, and a conveying device with a guide track in which base bodies are guided. The plant also includes a drive for driving the base bodies and at least one control unit. Each base body includes at least one connecting member suspended from the base body and a support body constructed for receiving at least one workpiece. Each support body is connected in an articulated manner to the respective connecting member. Each connecting member is mounted so as to include a lifting unit to the respective base body. Each lifting unit of each base body includes a control unit for selectively controlling the connecting member.
