The invention relates to a method for reprofiling wheelsets () rotatably mounted in axle bearing housings () on rail vehicles on underfloor wheelset lathes () equipped with machining tools, a machine control for the machining tools, drive rollers (), axial guide rollers (), measuring rollers () as well as clamping devices () to engage the axle bearing housings (). The method is characterised in that the wheelset () is lifted off the rail using the drive rollers (), weighing it in the process, the axle bearing housings () are fixed between the drive rollers () and the clamping devices (), an axial guide roller () is adjusted to touch the inner side () of each of the two wheels () of the wheelset () and fixed in this position, an additional force () is applied to the drive rollers (), that the actual diameter () and the wear profile of each wheel () is determined by means of a measuring roller (), that the smaller actual diameter is determined based on the measurement results and, it having been modified by a specified machining allowance, entered as the nominal diameter () into the machine control for the machining tools.

Method for reprofiling wheelsets on underfloor wheel lathes

The invention relates to a hydraulic wheel set press for the simultaneous pressing of two wheel () or brake disks on a wheel axis () having a frame construction () mounted on a base (), said frame construction being comprised of two identical vertical press stands () connected to one another in a fixed manner at a mutual distance via horizontal traverses (). The press stands () each have a housing () serving to accommodate a centering cylinder () engaging the wheel axis () on one end (). In addition, a press cylinder () is provided concentrically to the centering cylinder (). said press cylinder engaging the wheel () or brake disk to be pressed, as well as control devices () for loading each of the two cylinders () with a pressure medium. The present invention relates to a method for reprofiling wheel disks () or brake disks of a railway wheel or wheelset (), rotatably mounted in bearing housings (), by machining using a machine tool (), which is designed to be portable, a wheel disk () of the railway wheel or the wheelset () being pressed against backup rolls () on its circumference by a clamping element (), which engages on at least one bearing housing (), at least one of the backup rolls setting the railway wheel or the wheelset () into rotation, while simultaneously a tool () machines one of the wheel () or brake disks. The invention also relates to a machine tool () for carrying out the method. This machine tool () has a portable support frame () having a clamping element () for engaging on a closed inner and/or outer bearing housing () of the railway wheel or wheelset (), and at least one backup roll (), which may be pressed against the outer circumference of the wheel disk (), on whose bearing housing(s) () the clamping element () engages, at a mutual distance to one another opposite to the clamping element (), a drive for at least one of the backup rolls (), and a tool () for machining wheel () or brake disks () of the railway wheel or wheelset ().
