Disclosed in part is a composition comprising one or more propylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer(s) comprising propylene-derived units and from 5 to 35 wt % (by weight of the propylene-&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer) of ethylene-derived units and/or Cto C&#x3b1;-olefin-derived units, and having a Mooney viscosity [ML (1+4) @ 125&#xb0; C.] as determined according to ASTM D1646, of less than 50, and a Hof less than 75 J/g; and one or more ethylene-ester copolymer(s). The composition is suitable for an elastic film, and in particular suitable for a two or more layered film wherein the skin (outer) layer also includes anti-block and slip agents.

Elastic polypropylene-based film compositions

A film structure having a base layer comprising a film-forming thermoplastic polymer; and a heat-seal layer having a seal-initiation temperature less than or about 130&#xb0; C. and comprising from about 50 to about 98 wt % of a first polymer component and about 2 to about 50 wt % of a second polymer component. The first polymer component comprising propylene-derived units and, optionally, up to about 20 wt % of comonomer units derived from a Cand/or C-C&#x3b1;-olefin, and having a heat of fusion greater than 75 J/g and a melting point greater than or equal to 105&#xb0; C. The second polymer component comprising at least 75 wt % propylene-derived units, and having a melting point less than 105&#xb0; C. and a heat of fusion less than 75 J/g.

Heat sealable films from propylene and &#x3b1;-olefin units

The invention relates to a film for surface protection having at least one base layer and a surface layer for removably adhering to a substrate comprising at least 40 wt % of an elastomeric propylene-based polymer with a heat of fusion derived from isotactic propylene type crystallinity as determined by DSC of less than 40 J/g and optionally an ethylene-based polymer in the form of an ethylene-alpha-olefin copolymer having a density of less than 0.91 g/cmand/or an ethylene-vinyl ester copolymer having from 5 to 60 wt % of the ester derived units and/or optionally less than 40 wt % of a propylene based polymer having a heat of fusion of greater than 70 J/g. The films have good initial tack.
