The invention relates to a fuel injector (), comprising: a pre-chamber () within the injector, a high-pressure injector part () for discharging combustible gas, which high-pressure injector part has a nozzle unit () and a reciprocating nozzle valve element (), a nozzle-side end section of which is accommodated in a high-pressure chamber () of the high-pressure injector part (), a pre-chamber assembly (), within the framework of which the high-pressure chamber () of the high-pressure injector part () is separated over a nozzle-side end section, the high-pressure chamber being surrounded by the pre-chamber ().

Fuel injector

The invention relates to a combustion gas injector assembly () comprising a combustion gas injector () having groups () of combustion gas nozzle openings distributed around the periphery, each group having at least one combustion gas nozzle opening (), a combustion gas nozzle valve member () of the combustion gas injector (), which member can be controlled in the open position and closed position, is associated with each group () of combustion gas nozzle openings, in order to selectively discharge the combustion gas via the at least one combustion gas nozzle opening (). The combustion gas injector assembly () is configured to control the combustion gas nozzle valve members () successively with a predetermined time offset (T) into the closed position.

Combustion gas injector assembly and method

A fuel injector for an internal combustion engine includes a first injection valve having a first valve element that can be displaced in an axial direction and a first actuating device located axially downstream from the first injection valve to actuate the first injection valve. The fuel injector also has at least one second injection valve with a valve element that can be axially displaced and a second actuating device to actuate the second injection valve. The second actuating device is mounted axially downstream from the first actuating device in the valve housing, and the second actuating device to actuate the second injection valve is coupled to the latter by an actuating element, in the form of a cage-like arrangement, mounted in the valve housing in such a way that it can be displaced axially and bypasses the first actuating device.
