A measuring chamber device for an optically operating sensor for determining a concentration of a substance that is contained in tissue fluid of a mammal. The measuring chamber device has a measuring chamber filled with a liquid measuring medium and a wall with better diffusion permeability for the substance than for other constituents of the tissue fluid. A transmitter device for emitting optical radiation into the measuring chamber, and a receiver device for receiving optical radiation that has passed through the measuring chamber are also provided.

To produce optical beam splitter cubes, an optically transparent plate is provided with an optically active layer on a cover side. Then, on both cover sides of the plate, a plurality of prism bars are formed by molding an optically transparent material, so that a double prism plate is obtained. The prism bars are arranged on cover sides of the plate projecting roof-like in ridge lines separated from each other by valleys. Each prism bar has the cross section of an isosceles right-angled triangle, complemented by the prism bar lying opposite on the other cover side of the plate to form the cross section of the beam splitter cube. The invention relates to a position measuring system for scanning a movement between a first element and a second element which is arranged in a moveable manner in relation to the first element. Said system comprises a material measure which can be fixed to the first element and has a scale carrier, and a scanning head which can be fixed to the second element and which scans a movement of the material measure in relation to the scanning head. The inventive system comprises a mount by which means the material measure and the scanning head can be fixed to each other in a pre-determined position, the scanning head being detachably fixed to the scale carrier. In order to assembly one such position measuring system on a first element and a second element moving in relation thereto, the scanning head is fixed to the material measure in such a way that the scanning head and the material measure are mutually fixed in position. The material measure is then applied to the first element and the scanning head to the second element, the scanning head or the material measure being fixed to the respective element, filling the gap, in the position which is pre-determined by the positioned mount. The mount between the scanning head and the material measure is then detached.

A method is disclosed for conditioning a periodic analog signal (SIN, COS) to predetermined, positive and negative desired peak values by adjusting the signal (SIN, COS) using multiplicative correcting steps, which increase or decrease the signal amplitude, and additive correcting steps, adding to the signal a constant which adjusts the signal level in a positive or negative direction, wherein the presence of a current actual peak value is detected said method providing that the difference between the actual peak value and the predetermined desired peak value is stepwise reduced by repeated adjustment of the signal (SIN, COS) using modifying steps within a part of a period of the signal (SIN, COS), each modifying step including exactly one multiplicative and exactly one additive correcting step. A device is provided for carrying out the method, including an amplitude and offset adjusting device, to which the signal (SIN, COS) is supplied and which outputs said signal (SIN, COS) in amplified or attenuated form and with an increased or decreased signal level, respectively, at its output; a peak value detector, to which the signal (SIN, COS) is supplied and which outputs the previous actual peak value at its output until it is reset via a reset input, a reference voltage source, which is adjustable through a control input, and a control circuit, connected to the control input of the reference voltage source, which it adjusts in adjusting steps from a predetermined value, corresponding to the desired peak value, to the actual peak value which is output at the output of the peak value detector, and which stores the number and direction of the adjusting steps in two storage elements and then stepwise adjusts the amplitude and offset adjusting device simultaneously, depending on the stored number and direction.

Method and device for conditioning a periodic analog signal

A device and method for conditioning a periodic analog signal to predetermined positive and negative desired peak values. The signal is adjusted using multiplicative correcting steps, which modifies the signal amplitude. An additive correcting step adds to the signal, a constant which adjusts the signal level in a positive or negative direction. Upon detection of a current actual peak value, the difference between the actual peak value and the predetermined desired peak value is stepwise reduced by repeated adjustments of the signal using modifying steps within a part of a period of the signal, each modifying step includes exactly one multiplication and exactly one additive correcting step.

A position measuring device having a graduated scale carrier member which is secured to a holder is described. The graduated scale carrier member is secured to the bottom side of the holder, so as to float over a viscous liquid film. The holder, in turn, is elastically supported on a mount. A length measurement system for measuring the relative position of two objects in a given measuring direction comprises a scale carrier which carries a measurement scale and which is fastened to a first of the two objects and a scanning head which scans the measurement scale at a scanning location and is fastened to the second of the two objects. The scale carrier is constructed so as to be stiff in the longitudinal direction but can deflect in a springing manner vertical to the measuring direction and is fastened by only one of its ends to the first object, while its other end projects freely. The scale carrier is positively guided in the region of the scanning head.
