Plasticizers are homogeneously incorporated into finely divided solid polyamides by mechanically agitating a mixture of plasticizers and polyamides at temperatures of at least 80.degree. C. while the polyamide remains in the finely divided solid phase.

Process for incorporating a plasticizer into a polyamide

A precipitation procedure for preparing pulverulent coating compositions of high molecular weights by post condensation and based on polyamides having at least ten aliphatically bound carbon atoms per carbonamide group. The starting materials are uncontrolled polyamides having a relative solution viscosity of between 1.7 and 2.0 (measured in 0.5% meta cresol solution at 25.degree. C.) and contain not more than 0.2% by weight of phosphoric acid. After the cooling stage of the precipitation step of the polyamides, from 0.3 to 1.2% by weight of phosphoric acid referred to the polyamide are dispersed in the suspension prior to the precipitation in the solution or after the precipitation stage.

Process for preparing polyamide-based, pulverulent coating compositions

Copolyamides based on dicarboxylic acids, diamines and omega amino carboxylic acids or lactams are used as thermoplastic adhesives to heat-seal especially siliconized textiles. The copolymers used consist of 20 to 80% by weight of one or more aliphatic omega amino carboxylic acids or lactams having 6 to 12 carbon atoms in the chain and 80 to 20% by weight of equimolar mixtures of one or more aliphatic dicarboxylic acids having 6 to 12 carbon atoms and aliphatic alpha-omega diamines and possibly cycloaliphatic diamines having 6 to 12 carbon atoms, at least 30% by weight of these diamines consisting of singly branched aliphatic diamines having 6 carbon atoms.

An improved method of coating glass bottles by flame spraying with pulverulent copolyamides which uses a copolyamide containing at least 30% by weight of laurolactam. The copolyamides, obtained by the hydrolytic polycondensation process are first subjected to a molecule-orienting treatment, then ground into powders at low temperatures, and these powders are sifted to a particle size distribution so that the proportion of powder having a particle size of between 30 and 100 microns is greater than 70 to 100%, and the proportion of powder having a particle size of less than 30 microns is 0 to 30%.

Pulverulent copolyamides for the coating of glass bottles
