The valve plate (6) which is spring-loaded against the valve seat (2) of the ring valve comprises individual annular plates (10) disposed over the passage channels (1) of the valve seat, plus a support plate (11) which lies jointly on all the annular plates (10) on that side thereof facing away from the valve seat (2) and transfers the force of the spring elements (18) which act on it. The annular plates (10) can be bevelled both on the sides facing the valve seat (2) and on the sides facing away from the valve seat (2). With their bevelled side facing the valve seat (2) they engage in funnel-shaped enlargements in the valve seat (2) and cooperate with sealing seats (17).

Ring valve

The compressor unit consists of a screw compressor (2) and a drive motor (1), which is connected for drive purposes to the screw compressor (2) by way of an engageable and disengageable clutch (3) and can be temporarily stopped in order to control the throughput of the screw compressor (2). To allow starting of the compressor unit without the drive motor (1) becoming thermally overloaded, the clutch inserted between the drive motor (1) and screw compressor (2) is in the form of a known centrifugal clutch (3), the driving clutch member (17) being connectable to the driven clutch member (18) by means of friction plates (23, 28). For automatic operation of the centrifugal clutch (3), a control chamber (21) is provided, the presser plate (36) of which is adjustable against the friction plates (23, 28) by means of centrifugal weights (34). The presser plate (36) can be provided with return springs (40) and one of the friction plates (23) of the driving clutch member (17) can be pressed against the presser plate (36) of the control chamber (21) by one or more annular springs (41). Ventilation bores (45) and ventilation slots (46) are provided in the friction plates (23).

Screw compressor unit including a centrifugal clutch

To adapt a compressor valve to varying operational conditions of the compressor, particularly to varying numbers of revolutions and/or the respective specific weight of the transported gas, a process and a compressor valve for executing the process are provided. The process is that a compressor drive at various numbers of revolutions or transporting gas with varying specific weight, the spring force--possibly resulting from several spring forces--acting during operation on the plug in a closing direction and/or the lift of the plug is forcefully reduced with falling number of revolutions or increasing specific weight the process is reversed either continuously or in steps. In the compressor valve at least some of the closing springs are braced against a spring plate which is arranged on the outside of the catch in the lift direction of the plug, adjustable either continuously or in steps, or it is the catch itself which is continuously or in steps adjustable in the lift direction of the plug, relative to the valve seat.

Adjustable compressor valve which can accommodate changing operating

A compressor plate valve has a valve seat, a valve guard and at least one valve plate which is mobile to-and-fro therebetween to control passage channels provided in the valve seat. To enable the compressor to be switched to idle running, a lifting device is provided for keeping the valve open. This comprises a seating plate which is disposed mobile between the valve seat and the valve plate in the direction of the lifting movement and has valve ports aligned with the passage channels in the valve seat and connection apertures corresponding with the passage apertures in the valve plate. The lifting force is applied to the seating plate by means of a control device.

Compressor plate valve

A closing member for a ring valve is a flexible reed of substantially semicircular form comprising an outer ring portion with mounting points at its ends, and a plurality of inner ring portions connected to the outer ring portion by at least one radial web.

In a valve where a port is opened and closed by movement of a lamina away from or towards the port, the lamina is held between two adjacent parts of the valve. To ensure that the lamina is held rigidly in place, it is provided with resiliently deformable projections on its side facing away from the port which it is to close.
