The combination of a binding and boot is provided. The binding has a pair of pistons ( ) extending under the boot. Each piston is stressed by a spring ( ). The arms of a sole clamp ( ) act on these pistons. The pistons are connected together by a linking device ( ). The combination magnetically controls the linking device which is capable of occupying a first position, in which the pistons arc secured by the linking device, and a second position in which one of the pistons is able to move on its own, at least over a certain travel common to the two pistons. The combination thus provides asymmetrical release resistance.

Safety binding for ski boot

Binding intended for binding the front of the boot or the heel, comprising a body (13) which pivots (14) or is stationary and provided with a grip (15) articulated on the body about a horizontal pin (16). The body and the grip are held in the closed position by at least one spring (18) acting via a piston (17) on a transmission device comprising two moving parts articulated on each other (21, 24). One of these moving parts (21) bears permanently against the grip and the other moving part (24) bears permanently against lateral-retention means which consist, for example, of two stationary stops (10) against which bear levers (33a) acting on a transmission element (26). A lateral displacement of the body, or of the boot respectively, in particular causes the vertical pressure of the grip on the boot to be reduced.

Ski safety binding

Binding having a plate (1) mounted pivotably (3) and stirrup (4) for holding in place the front part of the foot and a heel unit (5) comprising a body (13) mounted pivotably (14) on the plate and provided with an articulated grip (15). The heel unit comprises a return spring (18) acting also on a movable lock (27) holding in place the body (13) aligned on the plate. The binding comprises a return member (33a, 10) returning the plate and the heel unit to the initial position after release. The heel unit is unlocked only after the plate has rotated by a given angle.

The binding comprises a plate mounted pivotably on a ski about an axis by means of a pivot. The plate is provided with a horizontal finger, which is engaged in a bayonet groove of the pivot, with vertical play, in order to retain the plate axially on its pivot upon bending of the ski. The plate is thus not weakened by a perforation and the pivot is better protected against the formation of ice.

Release binding with plate

The binding has a plate (1) mounted pivotably on the ski about a vertical pivot (3) and carrying, at the front, the front holding member (5) and at the rear a heel unit (8). The plate (1) is in two parts (4, 7), one of these parts being displaceable backwards relative to the part fastened to the pivot (3), against the action of a spring (45). In the event of certain dangerous backward falls the boot may thus be freed from the front holding member.

Plate ski safety binding

Foot plate for a ski binding, mounted pivotably on the ski about a pivot (3) and equipped with a guide member for retaining the foot plate against the ski. These guide members comprise a metal plate (20) mounted slidably beneath a piece fastened to the ski, such as a yoke (21). The opposite transverse edges (20a, 10b) of this plate are engaged and slide in grooves in the foot plate (1). The tensile force on the yoke is independent of the longitudinal position of the plate. Such a mounting is particularly advantageous for a foot plate in two parts (4, 7) which can be displaced relative to each other, one carrying a fixed grip (5) for holding in place the front part of the boot, and the other a heel unit (8).

Foot plate for a ski binding

A ski binding mounted on a carriage reciprocally supported on a guide rail secured to a ski. A ski brake having a cam surface thereon is pivotally secured to the ski binding. An operating cam is secured to the guide rail or a component fixed to the ski and operatively engages the cam surface to (1) hold the ski brake in the retracted position when a ski boot is clamped in the ski bindings on the ski, and (2) effect a movement of the ski brake to the braking position when the thrust springs urge the ski binding and supporting carriage to its forwardmost position.

Safety ski binding including an intermediate plate and improved boot gripping means. A plate intermediate the boot and ski is mounted onto the ski by centrally positioned pivot means and held normally aligned with the ski by heel means which permits only limited swiveling movement of the plate with respect to the ski and only limited movement vertically of the plate away from the ski. Conventional toe engaging means are provided between the plate and the ski boot and said heel means also engage the heel of the ski boot, said means being arranged for releasing the ski boot from the plate upon movement of the plate a predetermined distance either vertically away from the ski or pivotally laterally of the ski. The ski boot is thus freed from said plate and said plate remains with the ski. After the ski boot is so freed from the ski the plate returns to its aligned position with respect to the ski and the apparatus is ready for re-engagement of the boot therewith.
