In an arrangement for producing a branch in a telecommunications cable (,) containing several stranded elements with optical fibers, at least one stranded element is cut, the optical fibers of the stranded element are spliced to the optical fibers of a branch line (,), and the branched area is protected with a sleeve (,). The branch line (,) comprises a number of optical fibers, each of which is loosely arranged by itself in a small plastic tube (,). A predetermined length of the tube (,) is removed from approximately the middle of the optical fiber elements, and each optical fiber (,) from which the tube (,) has been removed is stored in a cassette (,). The cassettes (,) are stored in a container (,). The sleeve housing (,) is stored in a container (,). The sleeve housing (,) with the cassettes (,) and the branch line (,) with the optical fibers (,) located in the tube (,) are a unit which is prefabricated at the factory.

Arrangement for branching a telecommunications cable containing several stranded elements with optical fibers

In a device for holding a number of cassettes of which at least one stores a length of optical fibers, at least one holder is provided for the cassettes wherein the cassettes are arranged horizontally and in parallel. Each cassette (4) can be pulled out individually from lateral guides (5) in the holder (3). Separated from the holder (3), a guide block (7) with a number of superimposed attachment points (13) for the optical fibers or conductors is attached to it. The inlet and the outlet (14) for the optical fibers or the conductors are arranged on the side of the cassette (4) which faces the guide block (7).

Device for storing a number of cassettes

In an underground configuration housing for telecommunication devices, a mechanically stable housing, which is closed by a removable cover, has an installation located inside which supports at least one telecommunication device. The installation supporting the telecommunication devices is a pot-shaped container with a cylindrical insert positioned therein so as to form a gap therebetween. The container is sealed in water-proof fashion by a removable cover and the telecommunication devices are located inside of the cylindrical insert.

Underground housing for telecommunication device

A sleeve for receiving branch or joint areas in optical or electrical cables, comprises a stable, essentially cylindrical hollow body (8) with at least one open end to receive the branch or joint areas, where a sleeve head (1) is inserted into the open end(s) and the sleeve head(s) (1) has (have) passage openings (2) in the form of radial slots (2) for the incoming or outgoing cables (3, 4). The slots (2) contain sealing bodies (11), which encompass the incoming or outgoing cable (3, 4) and seal the slots (2).
