A prosthetic heart valve includes a valve frame (), on which a plurality of valve leaflets () are fixed, and a fastening area for fastening in a blood vessel, which axially adjoins the valve frame (). A stabilizing ring () is arranged in the fastening area. The stabilizing ring () defines a predetermined shape and a predetermined diameter of the fastening area and has at least one predetermined expansion point (), whereby it is possible to expand the stabilizing ring () by an action of radial force on an inner circumference.

Prosthetic heart valve

A heart valve prosthesis includes a valve frame (), on which frame several valve leaflets () are fastened, as well as a fastening region which connects axially onto the valve frame (), for fastening in a blood vessel. The fastening region includes a stabilizing ring (&#x2033;&#x2033;) which defines a given shape and a given diameter and is connected to the valve frame () is a force-decoupled manner.

Heart valve prosthesis

A heart valve prosthesis includes a downstream first axial end () and an upstream second axial end () and a stitching ring () extending in an arcuate manner for stitching in a blood vessel. The arcuate course of the stitching ring () is formed by three arcs () and three transition regions (). At each end of two of the arcs () transition into each other. The stitching ring () has a movable tab () at at least one of the three transition regions (). The movable tab () can be selectively directed toward the first axial end () or folded over toward the second axial end ().

A cardiac support system comprising an intake region for the intake of blood, an outlet region for discharging the intake blood, a pump arrangement for conveying the blood from the intake region to the outlet region, a pump-aorta connection, and a suction connection from the intake region to the pump, parts of the function of the heart being taken on by said cardiac support system, and a cardiac support method having the steps of taking in blood from within the left half of the heart, pumping, and transferring aspirated blood into the aorta with the cardiac support system.

A woven aortic sinus prosthesis has a first substantially cylindrical section position away from a patient's heart, which optionally passes into an aortic arch of the patient, a second section having a greater diameter than the first section and forming a bulb, which second section is connected to the first section, and optionally a third substantially cylindrical section close to the heart, which is connected to the bulb section, wherein the prosthesis is continuously woven and has a constant number of warp yarns over its axial length, whereby there is a greater distance between the warp yarns in a region of the bulb section than in the first and third cylindrical sections.

The invention relates to a vessel prosthesis, particularly for the replacement of aorta segments near the heart, in the form of a pleated flexible tube with folds (), the tube being configured as an arc, and the arc shape being fixed in an extension-resistant manner, in the non-implanted state, by means of extension limiters.

The invention relates to a textile vascular prosthesis () with a circulatory pleating formed by folds (), and with an arch-shaped longitudinal flexion () extending over at least a partial section and formed by asymmetric shortening gathering of the prosthesis wall by means of at least one longitudinal seam () extending along the partial section. The at least one longitudinal seam gathers the prosthesis wall while preserving the accordion-like structure () and the compacted state of the pleating () in the longitudinal direction.

Longitudinally flexible textile vascular prosthesis

The invention relates to an aortic cannula for delivering fluid, especially blood, into a vessel of the human body, particularly the aortic arch. Said aortic cannula comprises an elongate basic cannula body into which the fluid is directed, an orifice from which the fluid is discharged at the distal end of the basic cannula body in a basic direction of flow defined by the basic cannula body, as well as at least one first deflecting element and a second deflecting element that are disposed in front of the orifice within the flow path of the fluid. Said at least one deflecting element and said second deflecting element are respectively provided with a passage opening that is aligned relative to the orifice, and a deflecting area which redirects the portion of the fluid, which does not flow through the passage opening. The area of the passage opening of the first deflecting element is greater than area of the passage opening of the second deflecting element, and/or the angle of deflection of the deflection area of the first deflecting element is greater than the angle of deflection of the deflection area of the second deflecting element which is arranged behind the first deflecting element.

Aortic cannula

In an artificial heart valve for the replacement of an aortic or a mitral valve, including an annular body, which is provided at its outer circumference with means for mounting the artificial valve in place by surgical procedures and which defines in its interior a blood flow passage in which valve flap elements are pivotally supported so as to open or close the blood flow passage depending on their pivot positions, the annular body includes circumferentially spaced projections extending into the flow passage and being provided at their inner ends with pivot joints on which the valve flap elements are pivotally supported.

Artificial heart valve

In a cardiac assist device, a housing has an inlet and outlet connectable to a patient's cardiovascular system. A pump is located within the housing to force blood that has entered through the inlet out through the outlet. The pump is connectable between the patient's left atrium and the aorta so as to assist the function of the left ventricle. A motor unit is also disposed within the housing, hermetically sealed from the pump. The whole unit is wholly implantable in a patient's chest. Permanently sealable valves, disposed in the inlet and outlet, may be closed without any invasive procedure to isolate the device from the heart once cardiac function assist is no longer required. The device may remain implanted within the patient indefinitely after the valves have been closed, and there is no requirement for a surgical procedure to remove the device once it is de-activated.
