A lobe pump is provided. The lobe pump may include a housing having an inlet and an outlet for a medium to be pumped, at least one lobe mounted in the housing so as to be drivable and rotatable and which has at least two conveying vanes, and at least one sealing element per lobe mounted on a sealing body. The at least one sealing element runs over a contour of the at least one lobe during rotation of the at least one lobe and performs an outward travel movement from a minimum diameter of the at least one lobe to a maximum diameter of the at least one lobe and an inward travel movement from the maximum diameter of the at least one lobe to the minimum diameter of the at least one lobe on different sides of each of the at least two conveying vanes.

Lobe pump

A discontinuous centrifuge consists of a rotatable centrifuge drum incorporating a drive spindle, a casing and a base. A hub of the centrifuge drum comprises a plurality of arms for the indirect or direct connection of the casing of the centrifuge drum to the drive spindle of the centrifuge drum. A scraper serves for scraping a product off the inner wall of the casing of the rotatable centrifuge drum. The scraper comprises an element which is pivotal about an axis, which axis extends in parallel with the axis of rotation of the centrifuge drum. The element comprises a blade which extends over almost the entire height of the centrifuge drum and makes contact with the product after the pivotal movement. The scraper is not moveable vertically. The arms of the hub have upper surfaces which are located below the drum base. The scraper is mounted independently of the swinging suspension of the centrifuge drum.

Discontinuous centrifuge with a scraper for scraping a product

A discontinuous centrifuge has a rotatable centrifuge drum with a casing. The cylindrical centrifuge casing is provided with holes to discharge a liquid produced during the centrifugation. The holes have a cross-section with an elliptical shape. The cross-section of the holes is widened from the inside to the outside. The hole wall is continuous in this case. The diameter of the cross-sections of the holes parallel to the drum axis on the inside of the casing is equal to the diameter of the cross-sections of the holes parallel to the drum axis on the outside of the casing. The diameter of the cross-sections of the holes in the peripheral direction, on the other hand, on the inside of the casing is smaller than the diameter of the cross-sections of the holes in the peripheral direction on the outside of the casing. The area of the elliptical holes may be additionally also divided by webs.

Discontinuous centrifuge with a rotatable centrifuge drum with a casing and method for producing the casing

A continuously operating centrifuge for centrifuging sugar massecuites has an upwardly flaring conical sieve basket () which rotates about a vertical axis (). A product distributor () flares downwardly and extends into the bottom region of the sieve basket (). The product distributor () is substantially coaxial with respect to the sieve basket (), has a discharge rim and rotates about the same vertical axis () as the sieve basket (). Within and in the upper region of the product distributor (), there is provided a distributor pot () which serves as a feeding device for the sugar massecuites in the axial region of the centrifuge. The peripheral wall of the product distributor () is divided up into a plurality of ring elements () which overlap in the direction of the axis () and the internal diameters of which differ from each other. A bell () surrounds the product distributor () and flares conically downwardly. A device () incorporating air directing elements is provided between at least two of the ring elements () of the product distributor ().

Continuously operating centrifuge

A continuously operating centrifuge serves for centrifuging sugar massecuites. It has elements () which rotate about a common axis (). Furthermore, there is provided a drive unit (), an outer housing incorporating a framework () having a base () and side walls () and vibration damping elements (). An inner housing () is provided around the elements () rotating about the common axis (). The vibration damping elements () are arranged between the inner housing () and the base () of the framework () of the outer housing.

A centrifuge basket having a basket casing, on the inside of which is formed a working screen for separating off suspension liquid. The basket casing has openings of elliptical design. The openings are offset in relation to one another in the axial direction and in the circumferential direction of the basket casing. The contours of the openings overlap in the axial direction such that the basket circumference is covered by openings.

Centrifuge basket and centrifuge

In a method of screening bulk material, a gas is conducted in counterflow to a direction of movement of bulk material for separating the bulk material into a fraction of coarse particles and a fraction of fine particles. In order to limit the amount of coarse particles in the outgoing fraction of fine particles, the amount of coarse particles contained in the fraction of fine particles is measured and compared with a desired value. When encountering a deviation of the measured the amount of coarse particles contained in the fraction of fine particles form the desired value, the energy of gas is so controlled as to match the amount of coarse particles contained in the fraction of fine particles with the desired value.
