An exterior lateral side rail in the area of a passenger compartment is adjoined in the forward structure and/or rearward structure of a vehicle by additional side rails which, in particular, are provided with a right-angle bend. Elements that reinforce the vehicle body are connected with the side rails at one end of the elements, and with an underbody or underbody components at the other end of the elements. The reinforcing elements include a first V-shaped strutting which extends in an approximately horizontal plane in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle and which is connected with a second V-shaped strutting which is arranged in an approximately perpendicular transverse plane. By its free ends, the first strutting is fastened to the side rails and, by its opposite ends, it is fastened to the second strutting at a common connection area. The second strutting is supported by its free ends on the side rails.

Motor vehicle

A vibration damper for a shock absorber strut is described which is arranged on a piston rod above the elastic body-side bearing facing away from the vehicle wheel. The damper comprises a mass element which is connected with a carrier plate, in which case the element is fastened on a centric pot element by way of radially extending elastic arms, the pot element being held on the free end of the piston rod above the elastic bearing.

Vibration damper for a vehicle wheel shock absorber strut

In a device for damping torsional vibrations of the body of a convertible vehicle, an elastically mounted weight is used. The damper is mounted elastically on a frame of a windshield by slide bearings and at a distance from the frame, relatively free to vibrate in the transverse directions of the vehicle. The damper has a frequency equal to the torsional natural frequency of the vehicle in the area of the frame, with the bearings having a sliding resistance determined by their geometry. The damper is elastically mounted by at least one central slide bearing on the frame element, with the damping weight having a leaf spring element at each end and mounted to abut the frame element and to permit transverse movement of the damping weight.

Device for damping torsional vibrations

A damper is provided on a convertible for the dampling of bodyside torsional vibrations in the area of the windshield frame. This damper is arranged particularly on the frame of the windshield and is held by way of elastic slide bearings. The damper is arranged in the open at a distance from the frame and can swing relatively freely in the transverse directions of the vehicle so that natural torsional frequencies of the vehicle on the frame are damped.

Arrangement for the damping of torsional vibrations

A steering column for a motor vehicle comprises a jacket tube, at which locally at least one bearing section is provided for the fastening of the jacket tube to a console mounted on the forward structure of the vehicle. In order to achieve a significant reduction of the shaking of the steering wheel also at critical speed ranges and in the case of a body of a convertible, the bearing section of the jacket tube, as viewed in the transverse direction, is displaceably arranged on the console. In addition, the jacket tube, by way of a supporting element, is connected to a vehicle body part having a high impedance in the transverse direction of the vehicle.
