A tenter clip is disclosed having a jaw which is pivotally mounted in an intermediate portion on an upper member of a housing which extends inwardly over a lower plate wherein repair of the wear points is facilitated by providing a central bushing pressed into the jaw for receiving a pin upon which the jaw is pivoted. An outwardly extending fixed controller is carried by a depending gripping portion of the jaw, and a transverse slot opens in a lower edge of the gripping portion removably receiving a gripping blade.

Tenter clip with replaceable bushings

A tenter frame drive is illustrated wherein auxiliary power operated means are provided to drive the sprockets at the entrance end of the chain runs, opposite the main drive at the exit end. The auxiliary drives remove the slack in the chains which normally occurs at the exit end opposite the point of driving engagement of the sprockets in such a fashion as to avoid chattering of the chain and tenter clips while providing for a division of the forces so as to some extent reduce the maximum tension in the chain, and at the same time insure sufficient tension for proper gripping of the web at the entrance end of the tenter.

Tenter frame drive and method

A rotary vane type motor, compressor or pump in which an eccentrically mounted rotor having sliding vanes rotates within a stationary main housing or stator. The stator is in turn defined by a pair of opposed shells, each shell essentially being a half cylinder such that the internal working surface of the stator against which the vanes move, forms essentially two opposed and identical circular paths or segments. The movement path of the vanes may be further controlled by rollers affixed thereto and adapted to engage a free idling race ring mounted inside of the hollow rotor and supported by means of a stationary crankshaft. In this added way the vanes pass the internal working surface of the stator without contact at a controlled clearance and the centrifugal force of the vanes acting against the stator housing is eliminated such that increased efficiency and operation at substantially higher speeds is accomplished.

The instant invention relates to a continuous process for the manufacture of heat set yarns. The process comprises firstly passing a two or more ply twisted filament or spun yarns having a latent bulk in the single ends into a first heating zone to develop the latent bulk, passing the yarn into a second heating zone where the yarn is heated to a temperature higher than it was heated in the first zone, and then passing the yarn into a cooling zone while imposing a false twist which runs back into its second heating zone. The second heating zone and the cooling zone serve to set the bulk and the twist and to increase the torque of the yarn. The yarn is then fed to a take-up and wound into a package.
