The invention relates to a brake disk comprising a ceramic friction ring () and a connecting flange () that is disposed concentric to the friction ring (). The friction ring () is provided with a fastening ring () in an interior area, which encompasses fastening bores (). The friction ring () is joined to the connecting flange () at the fastening bores () by means of fixing means. The invention is characterized in that the friction ring () is provided with relief slots () between the fastening bores () in the fastening ring (), said relief slots () radially extending from an interior area of the fastening ring () in the direction of a friction zone () of the friction ring ().

Brake disk comprising a ceramic friction ring

A brake disk with a friction ring () and a linking element () which are interconnected by a threaded fastener arrangement (). The threaded fastener arrangement ()encompasses a screw, a nut, and an intermediate element (). The intermediate element () prevents direct contact between the friction ring () and the linking element (). Also provided is a sleeve element () that is disposed on a shaft () of the screw (). A sliding block () is plugged onto the sleeve element (). The intermediate element ()at least partly encloses the sliding block such that thermal expansions acting in a radial direction can be compensated by a relative movement between the sliding block () and the intermediate element (). The intermediate element also has a springy effect in an axial direction, whereby mechanical and thermal stresses can be compensated in the axial direction.

Brake disk comprising a friction ring and a linking element

A braking unit has (1) at least two brake shoes, each with a friction lining; (2) at least one brake disk rotor each of the outer surfaces of the brake disc rotor at least partially forming a friction surface of a ceramic-metal composite material for each friction lining respectively; and (3) at least one brake application device that acts on the brake shoes during braking operation. The friction linings of the brake shoes cover at least 15% of the friction surface of the brake shift rotor. The at least one brake application device is arranged so that the pressure which acts on the brake shoes during the braking operation acts essentially evenly on the friction surface.

Braking unit

A method for variably setting the braking force in a hydraulic brake system of a motor vehicle with a brake pressure is produced which is applied to a wheel-braking device. In order to compensate a diminishing braking effect in hydraulic brake systems in wide ranges, the real actual friction factor between the brake disc and brake pad of at least one wheel brake is determined and compared with a prescribable desired friction factor, in the event of an impermissible undershooting of the actual friction factor by comparison with the desired friction factor, the brake pressure or a variable correlated with the brake pressure being increased to a value multiplied by a correction factor if the actual friction factor is within a defined friction factor stabilization range which comprises a plurality of friction factors below the desired friction factor.

Method and device for variably setting the brake force in a hydraulic brake system of a motor vehicle

A brake unit comprising at least one brake and at least one brake pad having at least one friction lining is described. The brake has a disk brake with a brake rotor made of a ceramic-metal composite (CMC) whose outer surface or surfaces at least partially form a friction surface for the at least one friction lining, and a disk brake cup that is mounted on the disk brake by way of one or more mounting elements. The friction surface of the disk brake has a hardness of approximately 1600 to 2500 HV, and the at least one friction lining has a coefficient of friction of approximately 0.3 to 0.5. The disk brake cup and/or the mounting elements form a corrosion-inhibiting attachment to the disk brake. The brake unit can be operated in corrosion-free fashion over a service life of at least approximately eight to 10 years or approximately 200,000 to 300,000 km.

Brake unit

A brake unit has a brake application device, a brake disc with a friction surface and a brake shoe with a friction lining which, during the actuation of the brake unit, acts by an application force Fs of the brake shoe on the friction surface of the brake disc. The friction surface of the brake disc is formed from a ceramic/metal composite material. A control device controls the application force Fs of the brake shoe during a braking procedure such that a defined braking torque results as a function of the application force. The brake shoe application force is increased by an increase in pressure such that an essentially linearly varying braking torque results. The invention also relates to a brake unit for carrying out this method by use of an electrohydraulic control device.

Method and apparatus for producing linear braking torque

The invention relates to a method for setting a trigger threshold value for an automatic braking operation. When the actuating speed of the brake pedal exceeds a threshold value, automatic braking operation is initiated, and a brake pressure is increased relative to the brake pressure corresponding to the position of the brake pedal. During each brake actuation a relation is formed between the pedal travel of the brake pedal and the derivative of the vehicle deceleration with respect to the pedal travel. A correcting value is defined from this relationship and the threshold value for automatic braking is determined as a function of a preset threshold value and the correcting value.

Method for determining a trigger threshold value for an automatic

A method checks a vehicle brake system rapidly and reproducibly to measure the correlation between the brake pedal travel and the retardation produced. A test-bed routine is called up in the control unit. During the operation of the test-bed routine, the functioning of the brake system is checked. For this purpose, a pressure difference is produced in the vacuum brake booster. The brake booster pressure difference produces a brake pressure in the brake master cylinder, and a pedal travel corresponding to this brake pressure simultaneously arises. The retardation can either be measured at the rollers of the test bed or is derived from continuously measured wheel speed values. A retardation value can be determined for each wheel as can a correlation between the pedal travel and the retardation from the measured values in the presence of different brake booster pressure difference. The process can average the values measured at the individual wheels.
