The invention relates to a device for controlling and/or regulating an annealing or heat treatment furnace () of a production line () processing metal material, which comprises the annealing or heat treatment furnace () and at least one measuring instrument (), which detects at least one material property of a strip material () located in the production line (), wherein the annealing or heat treatment furnace () and the at least one measuring instrument () interact in a regulating and/or control circuit of an automated process control, which regulates and/or controls the annealing or heat treatment furnace () in connection with a furnace control, wherein according to the invention, a solution is created wherein an improvement of the process control over the previously known prior art can be achieved. This is achieved in that the at least one measuring instrument () is arranged behind the annealing or heat treatment furnace () in the strap material processing direction () and detects online a measured value reproducing and/or depicting a mechanical material property of the strap material () and transmits said measured value to a regulating and/or control unit () as a data transfer signal.

The invention relates to a roll stand comprising at least one roll () having a rotation axis (a), said roll being supported in two installed parts () disposed in the axial end regions of the roll () and each having a center plane (M), wherein the roll () can be positioned in the direction perpendicular to the transport direction (F) of the product to be rolled by means of at least one positioning element (). The invention relates to a method for straightening a metal strip () which is guided in the direction of transportation (R) through a straightening machine () and is straightened. In the straightening device (), the metal strip () is impinged upon by a straightening force (F) which is applied by a plurality of straightening rollers () in the direction (N) which is perpendicular to the surface of the metal strip (). A continuously cast strand is cut into elongated billets having ends and the billets are run through a rolling stand. after cutting the strand into billets and before rolling the billets one of the billets is engaged in the rolling stand and a trailing end of the one billet and a leading end of another billet are enclosed in a mold with the ends longitudinally spaced. This space between the ends is filled with molten metal in contact with the ends of the billets and the molten metal is hardened to interconnect the billet ends. Then the mold is removed from around the billet ends. The molten metal is of substantially the same composition as the billets. A method and an apparatus for an anticipatory thickness control in foil rolling by using characteristic lines stored in a process control computer of the individual manipulated variables (for example, strip tensions, rolling speeds) for various operating points (conditions of operation) or by using an on-line operating physical computing model, also in combination with a monitor control. The method includes the steps of determining the thickness deviations of the foil at the entry side of the roll stand and of compensating the thickness deviations by an anticipatory thickness control. The apparatus includes a thickness measuring device between the running-off reel and the rolling mill or the roll gap of the roll stand. The thickness measuring device is connected to a superordinated process control computer.
