Micronized barium sulfate (BaSO) and methods for the production and use thereof. The micronized barium sulfate of the invention is particularly suitable for use as an additive or filler for adhesives, colorants, rubber articles and/or cosmetics.

Micronized barium sulfate

Superconductive bodies composed of cuprate material having a very critical current density with outer magnetic fields of up to 5 tesla when the bodies have a content of zinc cations. The bodies can also be subjected to modified oxygen treatment. The preferred cuprate materials are YBCO material and bismuth oxide based on superconductive material such as &ldquo;2212&rdquo; or &ldquo;2223&rdquo; type superconductive material. The preferred bodies are molded bodies obtained by melt texturing and &ldquo;powder-in-tube&rdquo; bodies.

Superconducting bodies made of zinc-doped copper oxide material

The invention concerns a micronized alkaline earth metal carbonate prepared with or without the use of an agent preventing crystal growth, and a process for its preparation and use. The prepared micronized calcium carbonate, barium carbonate with a BET surface area ranging from 3 to 30 m /g or strontium carbonate with a BET surface area ranging from 3 to 50 m /g is suitable in particular for preparing capacitors, thermistors and other oxide ceramic electrical components containing calcium oxide, barium oxide or strontium oxide, and high-temperature superconductors. Ammonium salts or alkylammonium salts of carboxylic acids having a total of between 3 and 12 carbon atoms and at least two COOH groups or at least two OH groups, e.g. salts of maleic acid or nitric acid, are used as agents preventing crystal growth.
