An analyte testing device is provided for use with a mobile processing device having a camera with a lens, a processor for processing an image captured by the lens. The analyte testing device comprises a casing and a test strip positioner. The test strip positioner positions an analyte containing test strip adjacent to the camera lens to permit the camera to capture an image of the analyte containing test strip. A light source is disposed within the casing. The light source is positioned within the casing to illuminate the analyte containing test strip to facilitate the capture of the image of the test strip. Software is contained within the mobile processing device for performing a quantitative analysis of at least one analyte from the captured image, and providing an output of the results of the quantitative analysis.

Body fluid testing component for simultaneous analyte detection

A meter and test wand system is capable of cooperatively processing an analysis fluid and communicating results to a user. The system includes a meter case including a case front, a case front, a case front, a case bottom, a first case side member, and a second case side member. The first and second case side members connect the case front to case front. The first case side member has a longitudinal dimension between said case front and said case bottom and a latitudinal dimension between said case front and said case front. The first case side member includes a first case ridge; A test wand is capable of receiving an analysis fluid, and includes a cartridge including a cartridge ridge. The cartridge ridge is sized and shaped to matingly engage with said first case ridge to connect said test wand to said meter case.

Methods and apparatus for analyzing an analysis fluid

A body fluid testing device includes a body member and a tissue penetrator carried by the body member. A test strip holder is carried by the body member, and a test strip is carried by the test strip holder. The test strip is capable of receiving a body fluid thereon and processing the body fluid into a form suitable for yielding test results relating to the content of the body fluid. The body member, tissue penetrator, test strip holder and test strip are designed for a single use and for disposal as a unit without disassembly.

Consolidated body fluid testing device and method

A self contained disposable test unit for testing body fluid comprises a body member and a support member. The support member is moveable with respect to the body member between a first position and a second position. The support member includes a body part receiving surface for receiving a patient's body part. A lancet is carried by the body member and includes a lancet tip capable of piercing the skin of a patient to produce fluid flow. A test member is capable of interacting with body fluid to aid in the determination of information about body fluid components. A capillary member is capable of directing fluid flow to the test member. A pressure cup is capable of exerting pressure on a body part to foster fluid flow out of a lanced site and into the capillary, and a calibration member is provided for containing information for facilitating calibration of the test unit.

Self-contained test unit for testing body fluids

A meter and test wand system is capable of cooperatively processing an analysis fluid and communicating results to a user. The system includes a meter case including a case front, a case back, a case top, a case bottom, a first case side member, and a second case side member. The first and second case side members connect the case front to case back. The first case side member has a longitudinal dimension between said case top and said case bottom and a latitudinal dimension between said case front and said case back. The first case side member includes a first case ridge; A test wand is capable of receiving an analysis fluid, and includes a cartridge including a cartridge ridge. The cartridge ridge is sized and shaped to matingly engage with said first case ridge to connect said test wand to said meter case.

A body fluid testing device includes a body member and a tissue penetrator carried by the body member. The test strip is capable of receiving a body fluid thereon and processing the body fluid into a form suitable for yielding test results relating to the content of the body fluid.

A miniaturized, vented capillary channel test strip device for estimating the concentration of an analyte in a fluid is disclosed. The channel transports analysis fluid through interior capillary space defined by the plastic casing of the device. The casing is preferably manufactured by flow injection molding. The capillary channel includes a reaction and a wicking component. Movement of analysis fluid from sampling to reaction to wicking site is enabled by a gradient of capillary force. The gradient is generated by a differential in surface/volume ratio between reaction and wicking component. The reaction component is comprised of a thin reagent film embodying the reactive chemicals, as well as a rehydrating polymer. The polymer absorbs a defined volume of analysis fluid. When the analysis fluid is whole blood, the polymer absorbs blood plasma. Surprisingly and uniquely, cellular component of blood is wholly removed from the reagent film surface by the gradient of capillary force. In this fashion, the reacted test field becomes exposed for visual or instrumented quantification of analyte.

Capillary test strip to separate particulates

A multi-aliquot storage vessel including a container having an upper end and a lower end. At least one of the upper and lower ends is an open end. The length of the container between the upper and lower ends is divided into a plurality of aliquots, wherein a breakpoint is formed between each two of the plurality of aliquots. The container can be broken along these breakpoints through the application of a separating force, to divide the container into subunits containing one or more aliquots. A cap is formed to be attachable to an open end of the container. A sealing device seals the junction between the cap and the open end of the container. A break tool for facilitating the division of the container is also disclosed. The break tool includes upper and lower components, the proximal ends of which pivotably rotate about a hinge between an open position and a closed position. The distal end of the upper and lower components have upper and lower container receiving portions, respectively, which form a container insertion port in which the container can be inserted when the break tool is in the open position and in which the container can be held when the break tool is in the closed position.
