The invention relates to a method of operating a gas turbine installation ( ), compressed fresh air ( ) is branched off after a compressor ( ) and supplied to an evaporator device ( ), in the evaporator device ( ) feed water ( ) is evaporated, while heat is supplied, and is mixed with the fresh air ( ) in order to generate a steam/air mixture ( ), the steam/air mixture ( ) is fed back upstream of a gas turbine ( ), the heat required for the evaporation of the feed water ( ) is at least partially extracted from an exhaust gas ( ) of the gas turbine ( ). In order to improve the efficiency of the gas turbine installation ( ), the feed water ( ) runs down along a wall arrangement ( ) heated by the exhaust gas ( ) and is subjected to the fresh air ( ). The feed water ( ) evaporates and mixes with the fresh air ( ), by which means the steam/air mixture ( ) forms for the recirculation.

Gas turbine installation and an associated operating method

A marine transmission comprising a gear box (7), a coupling (7) for connection of the gear box (2) to a propulsion machinery (2) and a propeller shaft (3) for transmitting drive force to a propeller (3). The propeller shaft is journalled in two radial bearings. The gearing is supported on a free end portion of propeller shaft via two radial bearings. These bearings may also constitute the front bearing of the propeller shaft.

Marine transmission

An epicyclic gear train comprises support spindles for the planet or star wheels cantilevered from a single support flange. The cross sections of the spindles vary with distance from the support plate so that under tangential loading the bearing surfaces of the spindles will assume a position essentially parallel to the axis of the gear train.

Epicyclic gear trains

An improved gear ring for epicyclic gear trains is formed from a plurality of concentric ring elements shrink fitted to each other, whereby increased flexibility is achieved without increasing stress levels in the ring. The ring elements may be separated by a layer of elastomeric material having a low modulus of elasticity. A method of making such a gear ring is disclosed.
