An elastic laminate including a first nonwoven layer, a second nonwoven layer, and a plurality of elastic strands arranged in parallel with one another between said first and second nonwoven layers is disclosed, as well as a process for the production of the laminate. The elastic laminate includes elastic strands that are stretched and individually coated with an adhesive. The first and second nonwoven layers are attached to the stretched elastic strands to provide a corrugated elastic laminate when the elastic strands are relaxed. At least one of the nonwoven layers is attached to the strands at distinct adhesive bonding points in a repeating predetermined pattern in a lengthwise direction along the strands to form a predetermined corrugation pattern, and the nonwoven layers are substantially free of adhesive, except in the adhesive bonding points where the layers are attached to the elastic strands.

Elastic laminate and process for the manufacture of elastic laminate

A wearable disposable absorbent article includes a front panel, a back panel, and a crotch panel bridging and at least partially overlapping the front and back panels. A backsheet of the crotch panel has a laminate structure including a liquid barrier sheet and a nonwoven layer arranged on top of each other. The liquid barrier sheet extends over the entire length of the crotch panel and further over at least a portion of each of the front and back panels. The nonwoven layer extends at least over the entire length of the crotch panel but not over a length of more than 40 mm over each of the front and back panels. The width of the nonwoven layer is smaller than the width of the liquid barrier sheet.

Wearable disposable absorbent article

A method for producing pant-type articles having a waist-encircling portion and leg-encircling portions. The method includes forming a chassis structure and at least one elastic panel being formed by providing a first web, which is an elastic web including at least one layer of an elastic material. The first web is stretched at least 70% in at least one direction. The stretched first web is bonded while the first web is held in the stretched state to a second web. The second web includes at least one layer of an elastic or non-elastic material, and the bonded first and second webs form an elastic composite web. The elastic composite is relaxed in the at least one direction by at least 4% of the stretched length of the stretched first web. The chassis structure is assembled from chassis components including the stretched and relaxed composite web.

Method for producing pant-type articles having a chassis structure and pant-type articles produced according to the method

A disposable absorbent article intended to be worn around the waist of a wearer. The article includes a chassis having a front portion, a back portion, and a crotch portion there between, and optionally includes a waistband. A printed tag is arranged on the inner wearer facing side of the chassis in at least one of the front portion, back portion or the waistband. The tag has a Surface roughness or Friction according to Kawabata which differs at least 10% from the Surface roughness or Friction respectively according to Kawabata of the surrounding area of the chassis to which the tag is attached. This enhances the possibilities to localize the tag by the fingertips and thus make it possible for a person with poor eyesight and under bad light conditions to differentiate between the front and back of the article.

Disposable absorbent article comprising a printed tag

A disposable absorbent article intended to be worn around the waist of a wearer includes a chassis having a front portion, a back portion, and a crotch portion there between, and optionally a waistband. A printed tag is arranged on the inner wearer facing side of the chassis in at least one of the front portion, back portion, and the waistband. The tag has at least one first area which is fixedly attached to the chassis and at least one second area which is unattached. The first fixedly attached area covers an area of at least 5% of the total area of the tag and the second unattached area has a length extending along a side edge of the tag of at least 5 mm and a width of at least 1 mm. The tag as described makes it easier to differentiate between the front and back of the article.

An absorbent article such as a diaper, an incontinence pad, a sanitary towel or the like includes at least one elasticated area. The elasticated area includes a patterned area having a visible pattern.

Absorbent article comprising one or several patterns

A method for producing pant-type absorbent articles, each article including a chassis structure having at least one elastic panel and an integrated absorbent core component, the method including a continuous pant-forming process including forming the chassis structure and incorporating the absorbent core component into the chassis structure. The at least one elastic panel is formed by a) separately producing a two-layer laminate having a first non-elastic fibrous nonwoven web and an elastic film, b) activating the two-layer laminate by incremental stretching in at least one activation direction to render the two-layer laminate (elastically stretchable, c) stretching the activated two-layer laminate by 35-200% in the activation direction, d) introducing the two-layer laminate in the pant-forming process, and e) laminating the elastic film of the stretched two-layer laminate to an elastic or nonwoven chassis component. An absorbent pant-type article produced in accordance with the method.

Pant-type absorbent article and a method for producing pant-type absorbent articles

A seam joining together at least two web materials in an overlapped manner by ultrasonic welding, heat bonding or the like, in a bonding pattern, which includes comprising a first bonding pattern and at least one second bonding pattern extending in a longitudinal direction along and adjacent at least one side edge of the overlapped portion. The bonded area of the second bonding pattern occupies more than 30% of the combined bonded area of the first and second bonding patterns. The bonding elements of the first bonding pattern have a mean area that is at least 2 times the mean area of the bonding elements of the second bonding pattern. The contact area of the bonding pattern, as seen in transverse direction of the seam, is between 10 and 30% of the width of the bonding pattern at any given point along the length of the bonding pattern.

Seam joining together at least two web materials

An absorbent article includes a front region (), a back region () and a crotch region () there between. The article further includes substantially longitudinally extending inner () and outer () leak barriers alongside each side of the absorbent core (). The inner and outer leak barriers are spaced from each other in the transverse direction (x) of the article. The inner leak barriers () extend at least along the part of the crotch region () having the narrowest width (w) in the transverse direction (x), and along a length (b) of at least 5 cm, and the outer leak barriers () extend along at least a part of the front region () and/or back region () of the article, while at least a part of the crotch region () along which said inner leak barriers () extend is free from raised outer leak barriers ().

Absorbent article with leak barriers

An absorbent article having a front region, a back region and a crotch region there between, said article has substantially longitudinally extending leak barriers, each of said leak barriers having a free laterally inward elasticized side and a laterally outward side, the elasticized side of the leak barrier being raised from the inner cover of the absorbent article. The crotch region along a length of at least 2 cm, preferably at least 5 cm and more preferably at least 10 cm, in longitudinal direction is free from raised leak barriers, while raised leak barriers are present in the front and/or back regions of the article.

Disposable hygiene pants with a front portion (), a rear portion () and a crotch portion () provided with two leg openings (), the longitudinal edge portions () of the front portion being connected by longitudinal weld seams () to the longitudinal edge portions () of the rear portion () in order to form a waist opening () and two leg openings () in the crotch portion, which leg openings are outwardly delimited in the transverse direction by the inner end portions of the weld seams as seen in the longitudinal direction of the hygiene pants. The hygiene pants have an outer cover () and comprise an absorption unit (). The cover is preferably made of an elastic laminate. The weld seams () are each reinforced by at least one reinforcing strip () containing thermoplastic fibers and have a tensile strength, in a direction transverse to the weld seam, in excess of 5 N/25.4 mm at least in the portions reinforced with said nonwoven strip ().

Hygiene pants for single use

A method to produce an absorbent article using a blank, includes the following steps: folding the side-edge portions of the side parts of either the rear portion or front portion in towards the inner cover sheet over supports placed on the side parts of this portion and extending along the full length of this portion, folding the blank about a transverse line in the crotch portion so that the end edges of the front portion and rear portion come to lie edge-to-edge and so that the side-edge portions of the folded-in portion overlap the folded-in side-edge portions of the second portion; and welding together the overlapping side-edge portions of the side parts within the area of the supports by way of ultrasonic or thermal welding.

Method for producing diaper pants of the disposable type

Absorbent article such as a diaper and an incontinence guard comprising a liquid permeable topsheet ( ), a liquid impermeable backsheet ( ) and an absorbent body ( ) enclosed therebetween, the article having a front portion ( ), a rear portion ( ) and a crotch portion ( ), therebetween, whereby the front and rear portion exhibits side flaps ( ), which are intended to attach the article to a pantlike shape around the waist of the user. The article comprises at least one attachment element ( ) located on the rear portion ( ) alternatively the front portion ( ) of the article, close to an upper edge ( ) thereof, whereby the attachment element ( ) is intended to be attached against the skin of the user to facilitate centering and application of the article on the user. Preferably the attachment element is arranged inside a perforated line, comprising an indication of fracture.

Absorbent article

The invention relates to an application drum for use in the production of absorbent articles. The application drum has a longitudinal axis of rotation and comprises material engagement means on the outside thereof for both collecting and delivering a material component. In order to be able to use only a single drum and still be able to place material components more to one or the, other side of the center-line of a conveyor belt, the material engagement means is arranged for reciprocal movement with respect to the drum in a direction parallel to the axis of rotation of the drum.
