Technologies directed to detecting and controlling different types of ZigBee devices on different ZigBee networks reliably and efficiently. In one method of operating a first device, the method includes detecting first and second Zigbee networks. The method sends a first request to rejoin the first Zigbee network, the first request being encoded with the first network key. While rejoined as part of the first Zigbee network, the method detects a first set of devices part of the first Zigbee network. The method repeats this for a second set of devices part of the second Zigbee network. The method determines, using the device data, a subset of controllable devices located in proximity, and sends a message with the command to each in response to receiving a command. Each message is encoded with a respective network key and a respective link key specified in the device data.

Detecting and controlling different types of Zigbee devices on different networks and channels

A method including establishing, at a first wireless audio device, a first communication channel with a second wireless audio device, receiving, at the first wireless audio device, audio data corresponding to a user utterance, determining that the audio data includes a wake word, transmitting at least a portion of the audio data from the first wireless audio device to a mobile device via a second communication channel, receiving an indication to establish a third communication channel with a second wireless audio device, and establishing the third communication channel with the second wireless audio device.

Technologies for a wearable device are described. One wearable device includes a radio and a processor, the processor measures sensor data (e.g., a first angle between the wearable device and a first wireless endpoint device and a second angle between the wearable device and a second wireless endpoint device) and motion data indicative of motion of the wearable device over a first duration of time. The wearable device also measure signal strength values for communications with the respective devices. The wearable device predicts, using a first trained model, a position of the wearable device and to which target device the wearable device is directed. The wearable device predicts, using a second trained mode, a gesture made by the wearable device. The wearable device sends a message, corresponding to the gesture, to the target device to control the target device.

Wearable device for controlling endpoint devices

This disclosure describes, in part, techniques for implementing voice-enabled devices in vehicle environments to facilitate voice interaction with vehicle computing devices. Due to the differing communication capabilities of existing vehicle computing devices, the techniques described herein describe different communication topologies for facilitating voice interaction with the vehicle computing devices. In some examples, the voice-enabled device may be communicatively coupled to a user device, which may communicate with a remote speech-processing system to determine and perform operations responsive to the voice commands, such as conducting phone calls using loudspeakers of the vehicle computing device, streaming music to the vehicle computing device, and so forth. In this way, the communication topologies between the voice-enabled computing device, the vehicle computing device, and the user device provide for voice control of vehicle computing devices which may otherwise be unable to be controlled by voice commands.

Architectures and topologies for vehicle-based, voice-controlled devices

A system and method includes a first device (e.g., a primary wireless earbud) and a second device (e.g., a secondary wireless earbud). The first device receives audio data from a third device (e.g., a mobile device) and sends the audio data to the second device; the first and second devices output the audio. When the first device detects a wakeword, to reduce use of wireless bandwidth, the first device sends only an indication of duration of playback of the audio data to the second device instead of the audio data. The second device outputs blank audio having a duration corresponding to the received location to stay in sync with the first device. The first device transmits audio data corresponding to the wakeword to the third device.

Using bandwidth-limited audio devices

A system and method includes a first device (e.g., a primary wireless earbud) connected to a second device (e.g., a secondary wireless earbud) using a first wireless connection. The first device is also connected to a third device (e.g., a smartphone or smart watch) using a second wireless connection. If the second device determines that the first wireless connection has disconnected, and if re-connection data is not received from the first device, the second device and the third device establish a third wireless connection between them.

A system and method includes a first device (e.g., a primary wireless earbud) connected to a second device (e.g., a secondary wireless earbud) using a first wireless connection. The first device is also connected to a third device (e.g., a smartphone or smart watch) using a second wireless connection. If the first device determines that a handoff-triggering event has occurred, the first device disconnects the second wireless connection and the second device and the third device establish a third wireless connection between them.

A system and method includes a first device (e.g., a primary or primary earbud) that detects first audio corresponding to an utterance and a second device (e.g., a secondary or secondary earbud) that detects second audio corresponding to the utterance. The first device determines first audio data corresponding to the first audio and the second device determines second audio data corresponding to the second audio. The first device determines a first quality metric corresponding to the first audio data, and the second device determines a second quality metric corresponding to the second audio data. The second device transmits the second quality metric to first device, which compares it to the first quality metric. If the first device determines the second quality metric is better, it transmits the second audio data to a third device (e.g., a smartphone) and enters a power-saving state.
