A curing formulation operative as a lubricant is provided that has a plurality of silicone polymer precursors constituting a majority by weight of the formulation, each of the plurality of the silicone polymer precursors has a single curable moiety. A crosslinker is provided for reaction with the single curable moiety of each of the plurality of silicone polymer precursors to yield a thermoplastic silicone polymer having a majority by total weight of silicone polymer being comb- or branched-polymer form as the lubricant. A process of lubricating an interface is provide that includes the application of an aforementioned composition to the interface. Upon allowing sufficient time for the formulation to cure in ambient temperature conditions, a thermoplastic silicone polymer is formed having a majority by total weight of silicone polymer being comb- or branched-polymer.

An adhesive composition applicator includes a housing having sidewalls and a neck that tapers to an opening. The housing encloses a gelled adhesive composition. The housing has a cross-sectional area and the opening has a cross-sectional area less than that of the housing cross-sectional area. A cap is provided that engages the housing. A mechanism is provided for urging the gelled composition material from the housing through the opening. The neck optionally also includes a shield to prevent gelled adhesive composition from running down the neck and provides a barrier against gelled adhesive smear reaching the point of intersection between the cap and the housing. To facilitate application of gelled composition to a point of application, a spatula is provided adjacent to the opening.

An RTV seal forming silicone composition has a silicone base material that includes a lipophilic secondary phase insoluble in the silicone base material upon cure thereof. The resulting silicone has a shear adhesion strength as measured by transverse displacement of less than 50 pounds per square inch allowing for polymerized silicone removal without damage to an oil pan assembly.

A topical composition has from 0.1 to 2 total weight percent of a first surfactant, an organic solvent, a polymer thickener, and 80 to 98 total weight percent water. The topical composition affords good topical cleaning or lotion actions and rapid water rinse in a form that has a suitable shelf life. The surfactant is chosen to yield a net HLB of between 7 and 13.

A silicone dissolving composition includes an organo-acid compound such as sulfonic acid or phosphinic acid, a solvent miscible with the organo-acid and able to swell a silicone, a thickener and a small amount of mineral acid. Silicone films dissolve to a liquefied mass capable of being wiped from a substrate in a matter of minutes. The removal of automotive, electrical, and construction sealants and gaskets is simplified with the use of such a silicone dissolving composition.

Compositions and methods for inhibiting corrosion of metallic surfaces are disclosed. The corrosion-inhibiting compositions are cost efficient, easy to use and can be conveniently removed or replaced. The corrosion-inhibiting compositions include a putty-like base material that is pliable and has sufficient tackiness to be securely affixed to surfaces. Corrosion inhibiting compounds are combined with the base material. These compositions provide a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor for both direct and indirect contact with metallic objects.

The present invention relates to adhesive and sealant compositions in non-flowable form. More particularly, the present invention relates to non-flowable adhesive and sealant compositions which are particularly useful in the threadlocking and sealing applications and which can be packaged in a convenient pocket-sized applicator dispenser.

Polymerizable compositions in non-flowable forms

A silicone composition that is oil resistant when cured is described. More particularly, this composition includes a silanol terminated silicone fluid, an organic plasticizer, a filler and a crosslinker, wherein the cured composition remains adhesive after exposure to oil. The present compositions provide superior adhesive properties after exposure to oil than conventional RTV silicone adhesives having M-stopped silicone plasticizers. Methods of making and using cured elastomeric products made from the present compositions are also provided.

Oil resistant silicones

The present invention relates to improvements in the design and construction of apparatus for dispensing microwaveable hot melt adhesives and other heat sensitive materials. The apparatus comprises a dispenser which is heated by microwaves and then used to dispense a material therefrom. The dispenser is specifically designed to convert microwave energy into heat and to transfer the heat to the material to be dispensed in a more efficient and/or safe manner.

A two-part RTV silicone preapplied compression gasket material for forming compression gaskets in place. The formulation includes a silanol terminated polyorganosiloxane, at least 5% by weight of the formulation of a tri- or tetra- methoxy or enoxy functional silane crosslinker, water, and, a condensation catalyst selected from the group consisting of stannous carboxylate compounds, dimethyl tin (IV) compounds and mixtures thereof. One of the two parts of the formulation includes the water component and the other of said two parts is a dry part and includes the crosslinker component. The formulation provides fast cure, fast development of compression set resistance and excellent ultimate compression set resistance.
