In a sheet for the manufacture of cushioned insoles or of inner soles comprising a substrate and a foamed plastic layer the improvement wherein said substrate comprises a bonded fibrous web flame laminated to the foamed plastic layer which comprises a closed-cell crosslinked polyolefin foam. Advantageously a woven covering layer is flame laminated to the opposite surface of the polyolefin foam which comprises polyethylene and has a density of about 25 to 200 kg/m.sup.3 and a thickness of about 1.5 to 15 mm.

Sheet for the manufacture of cushioned insoles

A shoe bottom comprising a flexible foam having at least one surface with open or opened cells, and a film of an elastomeric material covering the open or opened cells of said surface. Advantageously the foam is an initially flexible closed-cell crosslinked polyolefin foam and the film is an elastomeric polyurethane of a thickness of about 0.1 to 0.3 mm.

A multilayer plate which is capable of being drawn comprises a central foam sheet of a closed cell, cross-linked polyolefin, the surfaces of which are covered with the same or different sheets of a hard material capable of being drawn.

Multilayer plate

A shoe having a multi-layered insert disposed in said shoe against the shoe sole, said insert formed of a closed-cell, cross linked polyolefin foam, said insert having zones of different resiliency.
