Methods and systems may be provided for user association of a computing application with a contact in a contact list. A view of one or more contacts of the user may be transmitted to a user, the view included a first contact. A request may be received from the user to associate an application with the first contact. A revised view may be transmitted to the user responsive to the received request, the revised view including a user-selectable mechanism for invoking the application on the first contact. The user may be redirected to a user interface of the application subsequent to the user selecting the user-selectable mechanism associated with the contact in the revised view, and the redirection may include transmission of information associated with the user and information associated with the first contact.

User association of a computing application with a contact in a contact list

Systems and methods for making a payment on behalf of a payer to a payee are provided. A request to make a payment on behalf of a payer to a payee is received at a first payment service provider. The first payment service provider supports a first payment network within a plurality of payment networks that each include a respective plurality of payers and payees. The payer is one of the plurality of payers and payees associated with the first payment network, and the payor is not one of the plurality of payers and payees associated with the first payment network. A second payment network within the plurality of payment networks with which the payee is associated is identified by the first payment service provider. A payment instruction to make the payment to the payee is transmitted by the first payment service provider to a second payment service provider associated with the second payment network.

Inter-network financial service

An identity risk score may be determined for subscribers of a service to indicate a level of confidence or certainty associated with a subscriber's identity. The identity risk score may be modified upward or downward in order to reflect changing levels of certainty. The changes may be based on transactions performed on behalf of and/or information submitted by the subscriber. Functionality provided to the subscriber may also be dependent upon whether the subscriber's identity risk score meets a threshold. In one or more arrangements, an identity risk score may be determined based on whether information entered by the subscriber can be confirmed and a level of confidence with which the information is confirmed.

Systems and methods for personalized security management of online applications are provided. A determination may be made that a condition for constructing an increased authentication proposal for access to an online financial service is satisfied. The increased authentication proposal may be associated with (i) a user of the online financial service and (ii) a user request option associated with the online financial service. Based upon the determination that the condition is satisfied, the increased authentication proposal may be generated and transmitted for presentation to the user. An increased authentication proposal response may then be received, and the increased authentication proposal response may be processed in order to store, in association with the user and the user request option, (i) an indication of an increased authentication condition and (ii) an indication of an increased authentication mechanism.

Personalized security management

Systems and methods for generating payment due notifications are provided. A payor and a payee of the payor may be identified by a payment service provider system. At least one notification control parameter associated with communicating payment due notifications to the payor may be identified. Based at least in part upon evaluating a payment history associated with one or more payments made to the payee on behalf of the payor, a payment frequency pattern may be determined. Based at least in part on a portion of the payment history and the determined payment frequency pattern, a next expected payment date may be calculated. In accordance with the at least one notification control parameter, a payment due notification including an identity of the payee and the next expected payment date may be generated. The payment due notification may be transmitted to the payor.

Systems and methods for generating payment due notifications

Embodiments of the invention may provide systems and methods for processing a payment coupon image. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an image representing a payment coupon from a payer, determining an identity of a biller associated with the payment coupon based at least in part on information displayed by the image, and extracting data from the image based at least in part on payment coupon metadata associated with the biller indicating a layout of the payment coupon. The method may further include performing at least one of: (a) processing a payment associated with the payment coupon to the biller based at least in part on the data extracted from the image; (b) adding the biller to a list of billers for a payer associated with the payment coupon; or (c) activating the biller as an electronic biller for the payer associated with the payment coupon.

Systems and methods for processing a payment coupon image

Systems and methods for electronic billing activation are provided. A request on behalf of a payer to activate electronic billing from a biller for the payer is received by a first electronic financial service provider (EFSP) that supports a first of a plurality of electronic financial service networks (EFSNs) from a second EFSP that supports a second of the plurality of EFSNs. Each of the plurality of EFSNs includes a respective plurality of billers or payers, and the biller is associated with the first EFSN and not associated with the second EFSN, while the payer is not associated with the first EFSN. In response to the received request, activation confirmation information is transmitted by the first EFSP to the second EFSP. The electronic billing activation enables subsequent electronic transmission of a bill from the biller for the payer.

Inter-network electronic billing

Embodiments of the invention may provide systems and methods for capturing and processing payment coupon information. In one embodiment, a method includes receiving an image representing a payment coupon from a payer and determining an identity of a biller associated with the payment coupon from the image. It may then be determined that no payment coupon metadata for obtaining one or more fields from the payment coupon is stored in association with the biller. The method may then include requesting a respective set of one or more field indicators representing at least an approximate size or an approximate location for one or more fields within the image. Upon receipt, the field indicators for the fields within the image are stored as the payment coupon metadata in association with the biller.

Systems and methods for capturing and processing payment coupon information

Methods and systems may be provided for user association of a computing application with a contact in a contact list. Systems, methods, and apparatus for establishing payees based on cleared items posted to a financial account are provided. Information associated with a cleared item posted to a financial account of a consumer may be obtained. Based at least in part on the obtained information, a payee associated with the cleared item may be identified. A form may be generated for activating, at a service provider, at least one of online payment functionality for payments made to the payee by the service provider on behalf of the consumer or electronic bill presentment of billing information of the payee to the consumer through the service provider. The form may be transmitted to a network entity for presentation to the consumer.

Systems, methods, and apparatus for establishing payees based on cleared items posted to a financial account

A technique for making a payment to a payee on behalf of a payor by a payment service provider is provided. A determination is made as to if a requested payment amount is less than a certain amount. The certain amount is associated with the payee and is determined by the service provider, not the payee. If the payment amount is less than the certain amount, payment to the payee on behalf of the payor is made drawn on an account of the service provider.

Payment processing with payee risk management

A technique for determining a period of time to complete a payment to a payee is provided. The time that each of one or more payments to a payee is issued is stored. Post-issue event information associated with each of the one or more payments is received. The period of time to complete a future payment to that payee on behalf of a payor is then determined based upon the stored payment issue time information and the received post-issue event information.

Technique for calculating payee specific time to payment completion

A technique for making a payment to a payee on behalf of a payor by a payment service provider is provided. The service provider identifies one or more risk reduction techniques available for use in fulfilling a received payment request. The risk reduction techniques are identified based upon the received payment request. An identified technique is selected and payment is made according to that selected risk reduction technique.
