The invention is based on a wiper blade () with a wiper strip () which has a wiper lip () and a head strip () which is integrally formed on said wiper lip and, in a first longitudinal channel (), has a supporting element in the form of a spring rail () with a flat cross section, and has a spoiler () on that side which faces away from the wiper lip (). It is proposed that the spoiler () surrounds the head strip () on its longitudinal sides by means of guide rails ().

The invention relates to a wiper blade () of a windshield wiper provided with a protective rail (), comprising a base body () that has an essentially V-shaped cross section and a wiper lip () of the wiper blade () and that is detachably fixed to the wiper blade () with the aid of fixing elements (). It is proposed that the wiper blade () consist of a wiper strip () with at least one flat, bar-type, elastic support element () and a spoiler (), wherein the protective rail () rests on the support element () or spoiler ().

A wiper blade () comprising a rubber elastic wiper strip () in which a resilient rail () is inserted into a lateral longitudinal groove on each side of side of said wiper blade as a support element and laterally protrudes from the longitudinal groove, wherein the resilient rails () support terminal caps () while being held together at their ends and being fixed relative to the wiper strip () in the longitudinal direction by a bridge (), which is joined in a fixed manner to the resilient rails () at the lateral parts of said bridge and forms a free space for a top strip () of the wiper strip () in the central area of the bridge. A relay, in particular for a starter for an internal combustion engine for use in a motor vehicle. The relay has a self-resilient contact bridge, which for a reversible change in shape effected by the contact pressure, in particular widening, is embodied in curved form.

The invention relates to a cooling system in which the fan output is determined by an output control from the characteristic curves of the fan motor, the operating parameters of the cooling system and the reference input variables predetermined in the form of temperature levels. Different characteristic curves for the activation of the fan motor are here assigned to the different set temperature levels. If the reference input variable for the control changes, this also results in a change of the characteristic curves for activation of the fan motor. In order to prevent the fan motor starting to howl, in the event of a change in the reference input variable for the fan control the operation of the fan motor is kept constant for an adjustable minimum waiting time. During this minimum waiting time, switching over of the cooling circuit may have caused the operating parameters of the cooling system to adjust to the new reference input variable to such a degree that howling of the fan motor is no longer of concern.

The invention relates to a method for actuating the valves in the three-way thermostat and in the heating cut-off valve of a cooling system. The valve setting in the cooling system is in this case selected such that during the warm-up phase of the engine, until the latter has reached its operating temperature, the coolant in the cooling ducts is brought to rest until the coolant temperature exceeds a predefined reference value.

The present invention relates to control of a fan during which the power of the fan is determined from the characteristic curves of the fan motor, the operating parameters of the cooling system and the reference variables which are predefined in the form of temperature levels. The various temperature levels which are to be set have different associated characteristic curves for actuating the fan motor. If the reference variable for the control changes, this also means a change in the characteristic curves for actuating the fan motor. In order to prevent the fan motor from whining, the operation of the fan motor is kept constant for a settable minimum waiting time when the reference variable for the control of the fan changes. During this minimum waiting time, the operating parameters of the cooling system can, if appropriate, be adapted by means of other control mechanisms which are independent of the fan to the new reference variable to such an extent that it is no longer necessary to take measures with respect to the whining of the fan motor.

Method for actuating a fan using a plurality of characteristic curves and a control program for controlling the power of the fan

An inertia-drive starter is proposed, in the case of which a relay is not required to engage the pinion in the flywheel ring gear () of an internal combustion engine. With this starter, a pushing-forward of the driven shaft () to engage a pinion () in the flywheel ring gear () is brought about by means of a pole tube () located on the stator () of the starter motor (), which said pole tube executes a turning motion around the motor axis when the starter motor () is energized. Means () are provided that convert the turning motion of the pole tube () directly into an axial motion acting on the driven shaft ().

For measuring the injection quantity (Vm) of injection systems (), in particular in internal combustion engines, test fluid () is injected by the injection system () into a measurement chamber (). To increase the precision and stability of the measurement, the volume of the measurement chamber () is kept constant during the injection. Moreover, a gas volume (Vg) is present in the measurement chamber (). The injected volume (Vm) of test fluid () is ascertained from the pressure change (dP) in the measurement chamber () that occurs upon an injection of test fluid (). The ascertainment of the injected volume (Vm) is done by means of the state equation for ideal gases.

Method, computer program, and device for measuring the amount injected by an injection system

A device is used for measuring the injection quantity of injection nozzles. It includes a measuring chamber to which the injection nozzle can be coupled. In addition, a detection device is provided, which detects a state change of the testing fluid in the measuring chamber due to an injection by the injection nozzle. In order to be able to measure the injection quantity without wear and in a highly precise manner, the invention provides that the detection device has a capacitor, whose one electrode is comprised of an electrically conductive fluid, which is at least partially contained in a volume connected to the measuring chamber. The processing unit is connected to the capacitor in such a way that it can detect a change in its capacitance, which is produced by a movement of the electrically conductive fluid.

A method for determining the instantaneous fluid level of a tank includes the steps of: designating a beginning fluid-level of the tank as an input value during the starting of the engine; ascertaining a first fluid-level value from a fluid level measured by a fluid-level measuring device, and ascertaining a second fluid-level value and a window around the second fluid-level value from the consumption of the engine and from the input value; comparing the first fluid-level value to the window around the second fluid-level value; determining whether the first or the second fluid-level value should be a new input value; displaying the new input value as the fluid level; and terminating the method if the engine is switched off or repeating the method starting from the ascertaining step when the engine is running.

The method for making the surface of a window or windshield of a vehicle hydrophilic improves visibility for the operator of the vehicle during rain or fog. The method includes exposing the window or windshield surface to a corona discharge from at least one moving electrode that passes over the surface, especially at least one electrode associated with the rubber wiper blade (,) of a wiper apparatus for the window or windshield. The degree of hydrophilization of the surface is controlled by adjusting the level and/or the frequency or the duration of the high-frequency alternating current voltage applied to the moving electrode to produce the corona discharge. Alternatively the degree of hydrophilization of the surface is controlled by adjusting the spacing (a) of the at least one electrode from the surface.
