An exhaust manifold flange for an internal combustion engine, for sealably connecting at least one stub pipe of an exhaust manifold to a wall of the engine, the flange has a basic part made of sheet steel provided with a bead which extends substantially around the entire outer contour of the basic part, at least one receiving hole with another bead therearound for securely receiving the at least one stub pipe in the manifold which has holes which are arranged for attaching the exhaust manifold flange to the wall of the internal combustion engine.

Exhaust manifold flange for an internal combustion engine

An exhaust gas filter employed to remove harmful components from exhaust gases, more particularly from exhaust gases expelled by combustion engines, includes flow channels or chambers having gas-permeable walls. The walls are formed by a band having compression-moulded material and spacers with the band wound into a spiral. The spacers serve to form flow channels by maintaining a space between the individual windings of the band. The band and, if required, further parts of the proposed filter are then sintered together to form a unit.

Exhaust gas filter

A catalyzer arrangement for the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine in which the catalyzer body (6, 7) is formed from a weave, knit or fabric of metal fibers, metal chips, metal wires, metal powder or a mixture of them which is pressed together in several layers (11) to form a pack in the outlet region (4) of the cylinder of the internal combustion engine in front of the exhaust gas manifold (5) and/or in the inlet region of the exhaust gas manifold (5). In addition, or as an alternative, the cylinder crown (8) in the cylinder (2) of the internal combustion engine can also be provided with a catalyzer body (9).

A filter for the separation of impurities from waste gases, in particular from the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, possesses a filter body, which consists of a plurality of compression moulded and high temperature resistant filter plates (10), in particular made of sintered metal powder, metal filings, metal fibres or a mixture thereof, which are disposed above or next to one another and between them form a plurality of flow ducts. To form inlet ducts (3) and outlet ducts (4) the flow ducts are open at one side and are closed on the other side. Walls of the filter plates (1) lying between the inlet and outlet ducts (3, 4) represent filter surfaces. Heat conducting sheets (5) are inserted into the inlet ducts (3).

Filter for the separation of impurities from waste gases

A filter or catalyst body for removing harmful constituents from the waste gases of an internal combustion engine, especially a diesel engine, is provided with at least one fabric layer of metal wires or metal fibers. Sintering material in the form of powder, granules, fiber fragments or chips is introduced into the meshes and is sintered on to the wires or fibers. The woven fabric is in the form of a twilled wire fabric (1), sintering material (4) being introduced into the meshes (5) thereof and being sintered together with the wires or fibers (2, 3).

Filter or catalyst body

A filter for the separation of impurities or contaminants from a fluid or gaseous medium, especially of harmful components from the exhaust fumes of an internal combustion engine, with a filter body having a plurality of inlet and outlet channels, whereby the inlet channels are separated from the outlet channels by filter walls forming reaction spaces. The filter bodies consist of a plurality of compression molded, high-temperature-resistant filter plates which, arranged one above the other, form a plurality of flow channels between themselves. For the formation of inlet and outlet openings, the channels are each open on one filter body end face and closed on the opposite end face. The channel closure and the connection of adjacent filter plates takes place alternately on each end face by two adjacent filter plates being pushed into and tightly surrounded by stirrup parts which extend over and grip the entire width of the filter plate adjacent end edges.

Filter for the separation of impurities or contaminants

A filter for removing impurities from waste gases, and especially from the waste gases of an internal combustion engine, includes a filter body consisting of a plurality of compression moulded, high temperature resistant, sintered filter plates consisting of metal powder, metal chips, metallic fibres or a mixture of these materials, which are arranged on top of or behind one another and kept at a distance from one another by spacers, to form between them a plurality of flow channels. The flow channels are open at one end and closed at the other end in order to form inlet and outlet channels. The walls of the filter plate situated between the inlet and outlet channels constitute filter surfaces. The filter plates are formed by filter discs lying on top of one another, arranged in a filter housing and having a free or open central interior space, so that the waste gases flow radially through the filter discs from the outside towards the interior space or from the interior space towards the outside.

Sintered composite filter

A filter for the separation of impurities from exhaust gases, and in particular, from the exhaust gases of an internal combustion engine, is disclosed. The filter is provided with a filter body comprising a plurality of compression-moulded and sintered filter plates having high temperature stability. The plates are made from powdered metal, metal filings, metal fibers or a mixture thereof, which are disposed over one another or behind one another, and are spaced by spacers to form a plurality of flow ducts between them. The flow ducts are open on one end and closed on the other, with the walls of the filter plates lying between the inlet and outlet ducts representing filter surfaces. One insert or several inserts consisting of catalytic materials or coated with catalytic materials are inserted into the outlet ducts.

Filter

A device for use in heating or incineration plants for use as a waste gas filter to eliminate and/or convert harmful elements in the waste gas is disclosed. The device of the subject invention can eliminate soot and soot-like products, or it can serve as a heat exchanger or as a mixing component for a furnace. The device of the subject invention comprises a sintered body made of one or more compression molded highly heat resistant sintered parts. The sintered body manifests high porosity and/or a multitude of intake and outlet channels.

Filter and gas mixing device for use in heating or incineration plants

In a process for the manufacture of a filter for liquid or gaseous media, especially for exhaust gases of combustions engines, the filter is formed from one or several filter plates out of a mesh, network, reticulation or fabric of metal wires. The filter body of a plurality of layers or plies of wires is brought between the electrodes of a resistance welding unit and subsequently a resistance welding is performed for partial connection of the wires to one another by spot welding.

Fluid filter and method of manufacture

A filter is disclosed for treating a gaseous stream to remove therefrom undesirable components, especially from exhaust gases of engines, and particularly from internal combustion engines, such as, for example, Diesel engines and the like. The filter includes a filter body or element having a plurality of inlet and outlet channels, with the inlet channels being separated from the outlet channels by walls or partitions to provide reaction chambers. The filter body is made a high-temperature-resistant, sintering material, and can be made of metal wire or metal chips which are compacted and subsequently sintered.

Filter for gases

A device for heat transfer or for heat dissipation from an object to a fluid, especially air is disclosed. The device is coated at least in part with shavings, metal wires or coarse metal powder made of thermally conductive material and sintered. The object may also consist fully or at least in part of the sintered materials.

A moulded body having an inner support matrix is enveloped at least partially with a plastic envelope making up the mould. The support matrix is formed at least partially from metal wire pieces and/or metal chips, which are compression moulded and sintered.
