An arrangement for a transverse spreading of a travelling web, in particular a paper web or the like, which web is in contact with at least one spreading appliance adjustable by its curvature. Said curvature is pretrimmable in the web travel direction and said appliance comprises a body member, and supported hereat, a spreading member mainly corresponding to the entire transverse extension of the web. The spreading member comprises a support member adapted to be bent towards the web, and at least two mainly rigid, web contacting rolls, which are located one after another in the web transverse direction and are journalled at said support member. Said arrangement comprises means for the provision of a movable support of said spreading member and a deflectable adaption of said support member for an adjustment of a second curvature of the spreading appliance, in a direction towards the web and independently from the pretrimmed curvature, said adjustment being carried out by adjustment members so, that a separation between the body member and the support member is altered at a plurality of different positions in the transverse direction of the web.

Arrangement for web spreading

An arrangement for winding a web on a roll core or the like in a support drum winder, which comprises a first and a second support drum, a web cutter, transfer means for the transfer of a complete wound roll from said support drums, supply means for the supply of a new roll core and guide and retainer devices for governing a web trail end and a front end formed by an engagement of the cutter with the web. The governing is carried out until a supplied core retains said web front end against the first support drum. The arrangement comprises means for a free new core supply from a location above the support drums in a position therebetween. The supply is carried out preferably by the free fall action and during the transfer of the complete roll. The retainer devices comprise retainer members separate from the first drum. These retainer members generate a force action against said first support drum.

Arrangement for web winding

Apparatus for winding web material, such as a paper web, on a tubular core to obtain a web roll includes a first carrier roll forming a first nip with the web roll, a second carrier roll forming a second nip with the web roll, at least one of the first and second carrier rolls being driven to rotate the tubular core and web roll being wound thereon, and a weight roll acting on the web roll with a press force. The first and second carrier rolls and weight roll are arranged asymmetrically with respect to each other such that the weight of the web roll acts on the second nip and the tension of the web material being wound is determined by the magnitude of the component of the press force applied by the weight roll acting on the first nip. The web material is disposed to run onto the core tube through a space between the first and second carrier rolls and through the first nip.

Apparatus for winding web material on a tubular core

An arrangement for winding a web, in particular a paper web, on a roll core or the like in a two-drum winder comprising two support drums and a rider roll surrounding the web core. The arrangement includes means for supplying, during the final stage of a roll winding process, a new roll core between the newly finished roll and the support drums. There are also a web cutter and means for the transfer of a finished roll away from the support drums. The front end of a transversely cut web is guided to form the beginning of a new roll around a new roll core by guiding means comprising a plurality of guiding units spaced-apart in the circumferential direction of the new roll core. These units include means for creating pneumatic jets urging the web tightly around the new core.

Arrangement for winding of webs

A method is disclosed for reducing vibrations in revolving disc cutters used for cutting a running web. The method includes the step of coating the disc cutters, at least partly, with a layer having substance components with a high internal friction. Preferably, the disc cutters are made cup-formed so that they have a convex side and a concave side, whereby the coating is applied to the concave side of the cutters. Tough plastic, preferably epoxy resin or rubber, mixed with metal powder, can be used as a coating layer.
