A method is provided for enhancing a user interface with a mobile device by joining the displays of multiple devices together to function together with one another. In particular, example methods may provide for detecting a first touch or drag event, receiving a message indicating a second touch or drag event from a nearby device occurring during the first touch or drag event, creating a join event, and providing for transmission of the join event to the nearby device. The method may also include updating a registry of nearby devices in response to receiving a message regarding a touch or drag event from a nearby device. The method may further include providing for presentation of content on a display of a device and direction of content to be presented on a display of the nearby device, wherein the content to be presented on the display of the nearby device is related to the content on the display of the device.

Method, apparatus and computer program product for joining the displays of multiple devices

An approach is provided for sharing media in a multi-device environment. A group of devices for sharing one or more media files is determined. A shared media manager causes joining of one or more displays of the devices. The shared media manager then determines to generate a common user interface for presenting the one or more media files on the joined one or more displays.

A method includes receiving first media data from a plurality of persons; identifying first media data generated within a window of time at a certain location and associating the identified first media data with an occurrence of a first event; determining which persons of the plurality of persons were present at the occurrence of the first event; and storing information related to the first event in association with information identifying those persons determined to be present at the occurrence of the first event. An approach is provided for thematically modifying location and related information. A location modification platform determines location information of a device associated with a first user. The location modification platform then modifies the location information to indicate a location other than an actual location of the device according to a predetermined theme and causes, at least in part, actions that result in presentation of the modified location information to a second user.

Method and apparatus for automatically updating a mobile web log (blog) to reflect mobile terminal activity

An apparatus and method for displaying a plurality of icons on the display of a mobile terminal are provided. Icons are displayed in at least two different sections. The first section includes icons having sizes determined by comparing characteristics of associated messages to one or more context values, such as time of day, geographic area, or user profile characteristics. The second section includes icons having sizes determined by the proximities of the message sources to the mobile terminal.

Multilevel sorting and displaying of contextual objects

An apparatus and method for displaying a plurality of icons on the display of a mobile terminal are provided. Messages are first sorted by comparing characteristics of the messages with first context category values. The messages may be assigned to discrete groups. The messages within each of the groups are then sorted by comparing characteristics of the messages with second context category values. Icons are assigned to the messages and displayed on a display of the mobile terminal.
