Aspects related to application based routing of data packets is described. In an example, a method for enabling application based routing of data packets includes retrieving, by a client device, a prioritized list of client application parameters to process data packets from at least one client application. The prioritized list is generated based on application support capabilities of the client device. The method includes transmitting client parameters to a network server to create at least one multi-path proxy (MPP) instance. Each MPP instance of the at least one MPP instance is configured to aggregate and route data packets to a pre-defined core network link. The method further includes receiving identification information pertaining to the at least one MPP instance from the network server. Based on the identification information, the prioritized list is assigned to the at least one MPP instance to process data packets from at least one client application.

The present invention provides location privacy against third parties while allowing route-optimized communication between the correspondent node and the mobile node. The mobile node's home address is hidden from an external observer thereby thwarting traffic analysis based attacks where a Home Address is correlated with a Care of Address of a mobile node (MN). A 'privacy label' is used in place of a home address associated with the mobile node. The privacy label is supplied by the mobile node to the correspondent node in a way that that allows the privacy label to be bound to the home address, but does not allow the home address to be visible during the exchange. The privacy label may be also used to help prevent against replay attacks.

Providing privacy to nodes using mobile IPv6 with route optimization

Systems, devices and methods are presented for providing controlled use of information stored publicly within the domain name system (DNS). Controlled use is established by storing encrypted data at the DNS servers and establishing trust, in the form of transfer of keying material, with requisite parties. The invention provides backward compatibility with existing DNS servers, in that, it provides for storage of encrypted data in existing resource records. The invention benefits from allowing storage in the DNS to be divided into both public and private classification, such that a user can identify and store certain public information that is available to all parties that have access to the DNS, while other information that has been classified as private is only available to parties which have established a trust.

The present invention discloses performing a care of address registration of a mobile node at a home server unit of a home network of the mobile node, the home network comprising a plurality of home server units being arranged to maintain a binding between a home address of a mobile node and its current care of address from a visited network. A mobile node selects a first home server unit for registration and sends a binding update message to the first home server unit. In response to the received binding update message the first home server unit decides whether a binding update is to be rejected. In case it is decided that the binding update is to be rejected, the first home server unit selects a second home server unit. In a binding acknowledgment message information about the second home server unit is included and a binding update at the second home server unit is confirmed. The binding acknowledgment message resulting therefrom is sent to the mobile node.
