An electrosurgical system for generating high-frequency alternating current for an ablation of body tissue, containing a high-frequency voltage supply unit which is or is to be electrically connected to a first and second electrode, and which is configured to supply the electrodes with a high-frequency alternating voltage. The electrosurgical system further includes a feedback unit which is electrically connected to the first and second electrodes and which is configured to generate and transmit an output signal dependent on the electrical resistance between the first and second electrodes. The electrosurgical system also includes a control unit that is configured to control the high-frequency voltage supply unit in such a way as to be able to automatically switch between at least one first and one second operating mode.

The invention relates to an electrode arrangement for an electrosurgical gripping instrument with an electrode, a heating element and a resilient insulator arranged between the electrode and the heating element to insulate them from one another, wherein the insulator is soft relative to bending. The invention further relates to an electrosurgical gripping instrument with an electrode arrangement according to the invention.

A biocompatible material layer for use as an intermediary layer between body tissue surfaces to be fused in a body tissue fusion, wherein the material layer includes two sides opposite to one another, wherein the material layer is configured so that it provides portions with comparatively higher electrical resistance and portions with comparatively lower electrical resistance between body tissue surfaces to be fused.

The invention relates to an anastomosis ring and to an anastomosis ring assembly for connecting hollow organs made from human or animal tissue. The anastomosis ring includes a first support ring and a second support ring, which can be coupled with the first support ring for fixating the tissue, so that the support rings are essentially disposed fixated relative to one another. The anastomosis ring is at least partially made form a biofragmentable material which disintegrates after a predetermined time period in a human or animal body. In order to facilitate better tissue connection the anastomosis ring includes at least one energy delivery element connectable with an energy source. The energy delivery element is configured to fuse the tissue at least partially through delivering energy during operations.
