A method for operation of a hybrid propulsion system for a marine vessel, including at least one electric motor and at least one internal combustion engine as drive units, is disclosed. Depending on the requirement, for example the vessel speed, the drive units individually or jointly drive at least one propulsion unit, for example a propeller, the power outputs of the drive units to the at least one propulsion unit controlled by a control device as a function of a set value, for example a set value for the propeller rotation speed or the vessel speed, and an operating mode such that the sum of these power outputs results in a total power being output to the at least one propulsion unit, with this total power output being split between the power outputs of the individual drive units as a function of the set value and the operating mode.

Method and apparatus for operation of a marine vessel hybrid propulsion system

A submarine or surface watercraft is equipped with at least one, preferably supercharged charging diesel engine, which serves to charge the vessel's batteries and which is operated in a controlled and regulated manner during submarine snorkeling mode or during the normal operation of surface watercraft. In at least one embodiment, the exhaust gases produced during the operation of the charging diesel engine are mixed with a flow of water, which is drawn from the water surrounding the vessel and delivered in a regulated manner by a pump while interacting with a negative-pressure generating device, and, in a mixed state, are discharged under water. The operation of the formed negative-pressure generating and mixing device ensues while interacting with the controlling and regulating of the charging diesel engine.

A method is disclosed for supplying external energy to electrical on-board power networks of ships, with there being at least one generator, one converter and electrical loads in the ship's on-board power network. In at least one embodiment of the method, the converter (shore connection converter) on board the ship, for transfer into the on-board power network, is fed by a connectable external current source with current of a different frequency and voltage to that of the on-board network and the current is converted in the converter semiconductors into current with the voltage, and the frequency of the on-board power network and fed to the on-board power network.

A ship is disclosed which is driven by inboard engines with propellers and by water jets producing jets of water. The inboard engines are embodied in the form of electric motors and the water jets are used underneath the bottom of the ship. The electric inboard engines are accommodated in skegs on the underside of the ship. A flow channel is formed between the skegs for the jets of water emitted by the water jets.

In order to construct standard equipment-segments for a corvette ship-type equipment system which is technically and constructively simple and economical in terms of cost, at least one of the standard-equipment segments, such as the energy generator and/or the energy distributor and/or the drive and/or the automation segment is constructed from standard units or components which correspond to the requirements of the corvette ship-type equipment system and which are arranged in the hull of the boat and which can be built into the hull of the boat according to the different boat or ship-type equipment systems.

A marine-(navy) or commercial or yacht ship-type equipment system is for electrically driven ships having different sizes and driving power. The ships, as well as coast guard boats and customs boats, include standardized equipment segments for the propulsion and operation thereof. The individual equipment system for ship types consists of hulls, which are embodied according to the type of ship, i.e. are made according to size and specific task requirements and the equipment segments for propulsion, such as electrical oar propellers and waterjets, and for the operation of the ship such as the energy generator, the energy distributor and automation elements, are embodied according to type and according to driving power and function of the individual ships. The equipment segments are embodied in a prefabricated manner and can be installed on different areas in the hull of the ship.

The invention relates to an electric energy supply system for a ship, in particular for a navy ship that can be operated with a low IR signature and that is configured as an &#x3c;&#x3c;all electric ship&#x3e;&#x3e; (AES). Said system comprises a direct current network (DC), supplied by fuel cells, as a ship electrical system and network for normal propulsion and an alternating current network (AC) comprising generators, in particular for generating energy for high-speed propulsion. According to the invention, the generators are motor-driven, e.g. by means of at least one gas turbine or one diesel motor, preferably supercharged and the AC and DC network are interconnected in such a way that electric energy can be exchanged between them, in particular that electric energy can be withdrawn from the DC network and transferred to the AC network to start the motor-driven propulsion.

A reduced pressure mixing device is for marine vessel exhaust gas with water, with the gas/water mixture that is produced in the device being passed out into the water in which the ship is floating. The device is designed such that gas and water flow through and to it longitudinally. Further, the device includes a centrally-arranged gas guide tube for the marine vessel exhaust gas as well as a propulsion water tube which is arranged coaxially around the gas guide tube and produces reduced pressure, with the tubes being located in an elongated housing.

A propulsion system for a large watercraft, e.g., for a high-speed, military surface craft, includes at least one water jet propulsion device (water jet) beneath the vessel. An operating method of such a system includes propulsive energy by combustion engines, e.g., gas turbines, and distributing the exhaust gases created by the combustion engines beneath the vessel in the water by the use of water flow of the water jet system. In such a method, the water flow speed of the water jet system is adjusted in accordance with the requirements of exhaust gas discharge and distribution.

The rotatable steering propeller is arranged in a connection unit in the form of a box in the stem of the ship's hull. Electrical and mechanical components for supplying power to and controlling the steering propeller and its electric motor are at least partially combined in functional modules which are in the form of a transport container. The container is designed such that it can be functionally tested, can be accepted at its point of manufacture, and can be installed in this form at any desired location in the ship based upon the container base structure.
