A method and computer-readable recording media using a self-describing module for updating data in a medical monitoring device. The self-describing module includes a metadata block (MDB) that includes at least identification (ID) data and corresponding configuration data. The medical monitoring device includes a plurality of sub-systems. Associating ID data from the MDB with ID data of the plurality of sub-systems of the medical monitoring device, and then updating configuration data of at least one sub-system with the configuration data in the MDB based on the result of the association.

Method and computer-readable recording medium for using a self-describing module for updating data in a medical monitoring device

A control system () for a device () for making possible a process control for a process carried out on the device, with a reception module () and with a processing module (). The reception module is configured to receive process information (). The process information pertains to currently carried out process steps () of the process. The processing module is configured to assign a sequence number () to the received process information and to generate a visible protocol signature () based on the sequence number, of the process information, of time information () and a secret system code () and to assign it to the process information, and to output the process information with the assigned visible protocol signature.
