A system may determine to provide content in a multimedia content message to a user. The user may be associated with a recipient account that is associated with content type preferences that identify a plurality of permitted content types. Each content type, of the plurality of permitted content types, may identify a type of content that is permitted to be included in the multimedia content message. The system may obtain the content type preferences to determine the plurality of permitted content types. The system may determine one or more selected content types of the plurality of permitted content types. The one or more selected content types may be content types of content to be obtained by the system and included in the multimedia content message. The system may obtain content of the one or more selected content types. The system may provide the multimedia content message including the content.

Multimedia mail service

Methods and devices provide access to a sponsored data service (SDS) via a mobile device. A method may include receiving information identifying attributes to ascertain whether a user qualifies to access sponsored data, where an attribute from the identified attributes may include a position of the mobile device or a time of access to the SDS. The method may include determining parameters associated with the attributes. The method may further include sending the parameters to a validation device, where the validation device determines, based on the parameters, whether the user qualifies to receive sponsored data. The method also includes receiving a network address from the validation device, in response to the validation device determining that the user qualifies to receive sponsored data, and accessing sponsored data from a device associated with the network address.

Selective targeting for sponsored data services

A route may be created and provided to a client. A stopping point along the route is received, and a search is performed for at least one point of interest according to the stopping point. Further, a route is created and provided to a client, and at least one stopping point associated with the route is identified based on at least one of a distance along the route, an indication of a place on a map, a category search, and a key word search.

Route based search

A user device (e.g., a smart phone) may dynamically manage photographs, videos, and other types of media content. The user device may receive media content by taking photographs, recording videos, and/or recording audio inputs. The user device may also receive media content in email messages, text message, download, etc. The user device may determine the value of the media content based on factors, such as the quality of the media content, the time and location associated with the media content, the actual content (e.g., people, landscapes, etc.) of the media content, etc. The user device may also determine a storage strategy based on the value of the media content and proceed to execute the storage strategy. For instance, the user device may store the media content locally, upload the media content to a cloud storage system, or delete the media content from a local storage of the user device.

Managing media content storage for user devices

A dynamic mobile device feedback system is described. Feedback may be obtained using a device feedback client residing on the mobile device and a feedback server remote to the mobile device. The device feedback client may receive feedback solicitation inquiries (invitations/queries) and presentation rules from the feedback server, monitor the mobile device, identify trigger events associated with the mobile device, present the feedback solicitation inquiries in accordance with the presentation rules, and receive feedback from the user of the mobile device. The feedback may be sent to the feedback server for further processing.

Dynamic mobile device feedback methods, systems, and apparatus

A method and system may include sending a non-linear content signal to cause display of non-linear content at a display device, identifying a termination identifier associated with display of the non-linear content, and sending a graphical user interface signal to cause display of a graphical user interface that includes a current location field and a previous location field. The system and method may further include receiving a selection request selecting one of the current location field and the previous location field.

Method and system for providing a transition between linear content and non-linear content

Systems and methods can include offering a user an incentive for viewing advertising content, delivering the advertising content to the user, monitoring the delivery of the advertising content to the user and awarding the user the offered incentive upon successful completion of delivery of the advertising content to the user. Systems and methods can further include maintaining a database of incentives awarded to the user for subsequent redemption by the user. Systems and methods can further include offering the user an opportunity to identify advertising content preferences, storing those advertising content preferences in a database and using the advertising content preferences to filter the advertising content identified to the user when the user is offered an incentive for viewing advertising content.

Systems and methods for using incentives to increase advertising effectiveness

In one aspect, a method is provided for providing a flexible content selection capability for selecting a specific portion of content displayed on a touch-screen display of a user's computing device. In response to receiving user input including a plurality of touch points detected within a content display area of the touch-screen display, a relative location of each detected touch point is determined with respect to the content display area. Content displayed within a portion of the first content display area of the touch-screen display is automatically selected based on the determined relative locations of the plurality of detected touch points. A content selection region including the selected content is graphically presented within the content display area. A context menu including user options for invoking functions related to the selected content is then displayed in association with the content selection region via the touch-screen display.

Flexible selection tool for mobile devices

The sharing of content from one mobile station with a group of mobile stations using near-field communication (NFC) may be initiated, for example, by the one mobile station establishing a NFC link with another mobile station. The one mobile station verifies that the linked mobile station is part of the group, and transmits information regarding the content to be shared to the linked mobile station using NFC. The one mobile station uploads the content to a server using the mobile communication network, such that the content can be retrieved from the server via the mobile communication network by all other mobile stations in the group. The one mobile station or the server can send a notification to the other mobile stations in the group including information for retrieving the uploaded content.

Group sharing using near field communication (NFC)

A map-based search application for map-based category navigation includes geographic data, category data, and categorized data comprising at least one item, wherein each item is associated with each of the geographic data and the category data. Accordingly, a user is enabled to search for categorized data that satisfies at least one condition related to the geographic data and at least one condition related to the category data. The invention further comprises a display for displaying a list of results from a search, wherein the list comprises the at least one item.

Hierarchical category index navigational system

Account information associated with a mobile device is obtained through a mobile wireless communication network from a database of subscriber account records for mobile wireless communication service subscribers. The account information may identify the previous mobile device, the mobile device, and/or length of usage of the mobile device. Advice information is selected from a database of advice regarding operation of the mobile devices such that the selected advice information is adapted for the account, and the selected advice information is then provided via a user interface element of the mobile device. Additionally, multiple levels of search related phrases, in which the phrases at each level correspond to a user-selected phrase at the previous level, are presented via a user element of a mobile device.

Providing customized information for mobile devices and efficiently searching the same

A system is provided comprising a plurality of listings, a plurality of labels associated with at least some of the listings. Additionally, a plurality of form inputs are provided, each associated with one of the labels, wherein selection of a form input causes a transition of the associated label from a first state to a second state. The system further includes a link that is made active upon the transition, thereby associating an action with a label wherein a first description is displayed in the first state and a second description is displayed in the second state.

Dynamic comparison text functionality

A mobile communication device provides a user with the ability to set up one or more profiles on the device. Each profile is configured to segment the user's data and applications and selectively restrict access from an active profile to user data and applications associated with other profiles on the device. The mobile communication device stores profile configuration data including profile selection criteria used to automatically associate items of user data with profiles on the device. When an item of user data is received on the device, the device automatically identifies a profile to associate with the received item based on the profile selection criteria, and the received item is stored in the device so as to be associated with the identified profile. Exemplary profile selection criteria include criteria based on a current time or location, a currently active profile, a data type of the received item, and a source of the received item.
