A scanning device mounting apparatus includes a mounting component, which may be magnetic; a hose coupled to the mounting component at a first distal end of the hose; an adjusting component coupled to a second distal end of the hose; and a cradle coupled to the adjusting component. The cradle can hold a scanning device, and the scanning device mounting apparatus is configured to position the scanning device in a manner that allows the scanning device to scan the labels on items that are being moved under or near the scanning device, such as packages or other items that are being loaded onto a delivery vehicle.

Systems and methods for coordinating container transportation. A method of autonomously transporting a cargo container includes aligning a distribution vehicle with the cargo container. The distribution vehicle is aligned with and hitched to the cargo container. An attachment can be connected to the cargo container for mating systems of the cargo container with the distribution vehicle. A system has inputs for vehicle and container location, arrival and departure times, facility plans, and can coordinate the autonomous movement of containers in a facility or a yard.

Methods and systems for coordinating cargo delivery, pick up, and transportation

A motor vehicle for transporting and delivering mail having vehicle controls (steering, brakes and throttle) that interface with the operator be able to be adjustably located in a position that is comfortable to the operator. The operator seat is of a size and shape that it is comfortable to the 5percentile female through the 95percentile male. The operator seat is also adjustable and the brake and throttle are adjustable with respect to the operator seat. Moreover, the seat is pivotable from a driving configuration facing ahead of the vehicle to a laterally facing position where mail operations can be comfortably conducted from the drivers seat. In addition, the door into the cargo compartment includes a window that lines up with a window in the left side of the cargo compartment such that visibility to the left of the vehicle is enhanced.
