A color sequential image method for displaying images using two color fields includes analyzing and sorting percentages of a plurality of colors constituting an input color image, in which a first color possesses a most percentage, a second color possesses a middle percentage, and a third color possesses a third percentage. The method further includes forming a first color field image according to the first color and the third color, and a second color field image according to the second color and the third color.

A display method and a display device are disclosed herein. The display method includes the following steps: analyzing an input image to obtain a plurality of first backlight control signals and a plurality of first liquid crystal control signals; generating image edge information associated with the input image; generating, according to the image edge information, at least one second backlight control signal and at least one target liquid crystal control signal that are associated with the image edge information; and displaying, according to the at least one second backlight control signal and the at least one target liquid crystal control signal, at least one multi-color sub-frame.

A method, image processing apparatus, and computer readable medium for image enhancement are provided. In the method, a low-resolution image is received and upscaled to generate an upscaled image having first pixels. Edge detection is performed on the upscaled image to obtain edge information of the first pixels. Each piece of the edge information includes an edge direction and an edge intensity, and each of the edge directions includes a horizontal and vertical component having a constant summation. A non-edge region of the upscaled image is enhanced to generate a high-resolution detail image; based on unsharp masking sharpening methods, an edge region of the low-passed upscaled image is enhanced according to the horizontal and vertical components of the edge directions to generate a high-resolution edge image. Image fusion is performed on the high-resolution edge image and the high-resolution detail image according to the edge intensities to generate a super-resolution image.

The displaying method includes: providing a target full color image, displaying a first color field and displaying a second color field. The target full color image is formed by a first color image optical stimulus, a second color image optical stimulus and a third color image optical stimulus. The first color field displays the first color image optical stimulus and a first part of the third color image optical stimulus, while the second color field displays the second color image optical stimulus and a second part of the third color image optical stimulus, which compensates the shortage of the third color image optical stimulus in the first color field. The target full color image is generated by displaying the first and second color fields in sequence, so as to decrease the displaying frequency of field sequential color displays.

A color adjustment method for a color sequential liquid crystal display (LCD) having at least one white light source is provided. In the color adjustment method, firstly, an original image signal is converted into a target color point located in a chromaticity diagram in a color space. Then, a modified image signal having white data is calculated according to the original image signal. Afterwards, the modified image signal is converted into a main color point located in the chromaticity diagram by using a matrix group. Then, a plurality of subfield data are calculated according to the main color point and the target color point. The subfield data are used for enabling the main color point to fall on the target color point.

An adaptive feedback control method of a field sequential color display includes: a rearrangement step of converting gray-scale values of a three primary color field of an input image into gray-scale values of a new three primary color field and a dominated color field; a sampling step of performing a pixel sampling on a resolution of the input image in a sampling interval; a feedback control step of performing a pixel by pixel sum operation for each separated color on a color break-up value and a color value of the input image in a Lu'v&#x2032; color space to obtain a color difference sum, and performing a feedback control at a bit precision on the color difference sum; and a liquid crystal/backlight synchronization step of synchronizing a liquid crystal signal and a backlight grayscale value of the input image according to the minimum color difference sum.
