An optical lens assembly utilized as part of an electronic device may be configured to provide a compact structure and/or a thin profile for the electronic device while maintaining high resolution, via the use of at least one lens having planar surfaces in partial portions thereof. An optical lens assembly may include at least two lenses arranged from an object side to an image side, where at least one of the at least two lenses includes an object side surface with a planar central region, an image side surface that also has a planar central region and a peripheral region having an aspherical surface. Various embodiments with differing lens arrangements are disclosed.

An imaging lens system includes a first lens to a fifth lens sequentially disposed from an object side to an image side. The first lens has a positive refractive power and an object side lens surface that is convex toward the object side. The second lens has a negative refractive power and a meniscus shape that is concave toward the image side. The third lens has a positive refractive power. The fourth lens has a negative refractive power and a meniscus shape that is concave toward the object side. The fifth lens has a negative refractive power and a meniscus shape that is concave toward the image side near an optical axis. The imaging lens system satisfies the following condition: f/f, where f denotes a focal length of the imaging lens system, and fdenotes an effective focal length of the third lens and the fourth lens.
