A computer system includes a screen for displaying images, a central processing unit (CPU) for controlling the operation of the computer system, an on-screen display (OSD) circuit electrically connected to the CPU and the screen for controlling the screen to display a plurality of test marks according to a plurality of predetermined coordinate values, a touch panel installed parallel to the display face of the screen for generating a plurality of test sensing signals according to positions at which it is triggered, and a control circuit electrically connected to the touch panel and the CPU for calibrating the coordinate values converted by the control circuit from the sensing signals generated by triggering the touch panel, according to the plurality of predetermined coordinate values and the plurality of test sensing signals.

Computer system and related method for calibrating a digitizer without utilizing calibration software

The present invention provides a computer system comprising a system memory, a processor, a cryptoprogram, an I/O port, and an electronic key. The electronic key can be inserted into and removed from the I/O port and contains a programmable memory that stores passwords. The cryptoprogram is used to encrypt and decrypt programs or files stored in the system memory. Encryption of programs or files is accomplished according to a password that is stored in the programmable memory of the electronic key. During decryption, the cryptoprogram searches for the corresponding password in the programmable memory of the key and decrypts the program or file if the password is found.

A mouse interface converter is provided, which allows a mouse to be connectable to a computer system, such as a personal computer (PC), installed with either an RS-232 serial port or a PS/2 port. This mouse interface converter allows the mouse to be connected directly to PS/2 port and via an adapter to RS-232 serial port. The mouse interface converter includes a mode-detection circuit for detecting which type of port the mouse is currently being connected. The mode-detection circuit can generate a mode-indicating signal indicative of the type of the currently connected port, which is then used to set a control circuit to convert the mouse data to the corresponding format. The mouse interface converter further includes a driving circuit that allows the mouse to be more compatible with various signals of either the PS/2 port or the RS-232 serial port. This feature allows the mouse to be considerably reduced in power consumption that allows the mouse to be suitable for use on notebook computers.
